so near yet so far ✿
"I ordered a few minutes ago," Jungwoo stated, scratching the back of his neck, "Baka kasi matagalan. Is it fine with you?"
Elodie quickly nodded, "Oo naman, hindi naman ako mapili pagdating sa pagkain."
They were both quiet after the very short conversation, and if it weren't for the waiter greeting them with a smile and serving them their food a few more minutes later, it would have been such an awkward atmosphere.
Nang makita ng dalaga ang nakahain sa lamesa ay bigla siyang nagkaroon ng lakas. It was as if she had powers just by looking at her favorite food.
"Lasagna?"
Jungwoo shyly nods, "Yeah, I thought you would like it."
"Hula mo lang ba 'yan, or..?"
"Okay, I'll be honest." He looked down, hiding his flushed face from her, "I've been observing you these past few months and everytime the cabin crew spent dinner together, you've always looked for lasagna."
"It's my favorite food."
"I know." He smiled at her, "Let's start eating?"
Jungwoo was trying hard not to be too obvious. He wanted Elodie to know what he feels for her, but at the same time, he wanted to stay silent about it. Maybe when the right timing comes, he says to himself.
Now, he pretends to be Cinderella—he wanted to enjoy the rest of the night with her. But he knows, when the clock strikes at 12, eventually, everything will end.
But also now, right at this moment, he wanted to be happy, even if all he could do was look at her. She was very near, but at the same time, she was very far away.
