Yo, I'm back at the Arizona Comicbook Arts Festival this year! March 22 at the Phoenix Shrine Auditorium! Whoo!

off to peddle my little comic books...

Supporter sketch request reward! I didn't grow up with "Pee-Wee's Playhouse", but my partner did, and we've been watching through the series together. They wasn't actually sure if I liked it at first, because I was so completely silent during the first episode, but then I turned to them immediately afterwards and declared something along the lines of, "This is one of the most important television shows of all time", ha ha! I keep thinking about how much I want to draw every character; they're all very drawable. But with the recent passing of the great Lynne Marie Stewart, when this supporter asked for JoJo's Choice for their sketch this month, I knew I had to draw a portrait of the most beautiful woman in Puppetland, Miss Yvonne. <3

Life-drawing sketches from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum! It was a good day; lots of animals were out and about.

1. Burrowing owl, ornamental box turtle, mountain lion, black vulture.

2. Magpie jay, Mexican gray wolf, black vulture, turkey vulture.

3. Great blue heron, ocelot, gray fox, antelope jackrabbit.

4. Gila monster, roadrunner, western diamondback rattlesnake, Gambel's quail, bighorn sheep, beaver.

5. Hummingbird, chuckwalla, praying mantis, Gila monster, various rattlesnakes.

This being came to me in a nightmare last night: a sort of pantomime-horse-type puppet-thing with an elephant nose, kind of like a demented blue Snuffleupagus. It spoke in a high falsetto sing-song voice, and it presented itself as a sort of tailor or surgeon for damaged plush toys, hence its name of the Fox-Stitcher. Then it came after me to eat my face.
