just a small rant
i've seen lots of people complaining about will byers being gay or robin buckley being lesbian or how they'll stop watching if mike is confirmed to be a part of the lgbtq+ community, and it's seriously annoying like girl what
"cant even watch a show without someone being gay" there isn't a single show without a straight character. seeing representation always feels so nice, it's something we don't get often. in books, being straight comes up so often people don't even notice, just think about it. its almost always a "mom and dad". i'm not saying everyone has to be queer, but i'm saying don't complain about queer people finally getting more representation when you've got it all your life.
will byers is heavily queer-coded and has been since the start, you should've already picked up on it and if it really bothered you so much, you should've stopped watching it when we first got signs (which was really the first episode). finally, gay representation without it being stereotyped.
robin buckley is a lesbian, and she isn't in love with steve, best friends can be the opposite genders too. i personally didn't feel bad for steve when robin came out in that one scene because the way i see it, he had such a good friendship and platonic connection with her that he got it mixed up and confused that for romantic feelings for her. lesbian representation is so uncommon, having some is really great in my opinion. robin is lesbian, get over it.
mike wheeler is extremely queer coded as well, you just need to pay attention, and don't use the "he's dating el!" excuse because first off, you can be bisexual (surprise surprise!), and you can be in a straight relationship and still be gay (oppression, denial, confusion, etc).
if people being queer is such a problem to you, just don't watch the show. you guys act like there isn't more straight people in the show than queer people. there is one confirmed lesbian girl, and one confirmed gay boy. TWO queer people, that's all. how many straight people is there? again, i'm not saying you have to go and make everyone queer, but i am saying that straight people are everywhere, so if there's a couple of queer people in a show, you'll live babes
