It wasn’t the first time since Vincent’s employment at Kingdom Technologies that he found himself exhausted, running on fumes and spite for the corporation. The money is nice, but everything else is terrible.

Dr. Sabine Callas just seems to have everything together, in such a way that Vincent believes it has to be real. She’s composed, intelligent, and striking in the bar he sees her first, while he’s barely keeping it together. Prodigal son he may be, but it didn’t mean shit when he was faced with a woman as awarded as Dr. Callas.

Was she out of his league? Most likely.

Was he going to try at least? Most definitely.

Vincent needs something to go well for once in his godforsaken thesis. Of course, it’s when he’s wishing for such a thing that his greatest blunder comes back to remind just how pathetic his personal situation really is.
