I'm from the merfolk au side of the dca fandom so dipping my toes into the water of a different au was really refreshing and fun! 🦭 Hoping to make another but with Sun and Moon (in a more true to description kinda way). I started working on this before chapter 5 so I didn't quite make it the more densely forest-enclosed cove, but it's nice to now have a description of the setting for future reference. :D Suddenly excited to do studies on stellar sea lions... And beach rocks I guess lol

DCA laying down always gets me. Especially on their side. Like, how do you make that comfortable? With the flat dinnerplate head? You could rotate it so that it's always flat with the bed/surface they're laying on. Because on its side just can't feel nice. But laying face-up, wouldn't their faceplate be resting on the neck joint? Maybe face-down is the only moderately comfortable position they can lie down? And they can't ever lay down with their back facing the ground, because of the skyhook. And I don't think laying down on their sides would be good for their shoulder joints long-term. So maybe if they plank?

Anyway, all this to say, I headcanon they "sleep" sitting down. But the image of them planking instead is deeply funny to me.
