I hope my ex-friends smile when they think of me. I hope, that when they remember all of our childhood summers, they think "wow, she really loved me." I hope, no matter where they are or how old they grow, that when they feel alone they know that sometime, somewhere, I loved them because they were worth loving. And that they are still worth loving.
I hope they remember our bike adventures to the creek and cutting up apples with a pocket knife. I hope they know that every little token of friendship I gave them, every necklace from claires, every Christmas present, was real. That I meant it with every fiber of my 12 year-old self. I hope they remember authenticity.
I hope I helped make them become the people they are today. I hope the people I loved as a child have been loved into a little better shape (in part) because of me. I hope it made a difference, even if it ended.
Maybe I'm too nostalgic, a little too sentimental, but I refuse to believe that childhood friendships don't mean anything. We laid in the grass and watched the clouds, talking about God and life too many times for me to believe it didn't form a part of me—and maybe it did them, too.
I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad

Abdullah Ameen resides in the Nuseirat camp with his wife and two extremely young children; the older being only one, the youngest being a newborn. The ongoing genocide makes it far too dangerous and difficult for Abdullah and his wife to raise their children securely and safely. He has also recently amended his campaign in order to evacuate his mother, who is injured with a pelvic fracture, and sisters.
His campaign began in April, yet it has received only a fraction of its goal of €35,000 throughout the past five months. His family must be evacuated urgently, especially since he is with a newborn child and his injured mother, who is unable to visit a doctor.

The fact that the Jewish community right now have so little non Jewish people supporting them is so fucking depressing. The bar is so low it goes to “not celebrating the death of innocent hostages” and “acknowledging that just because people are born or live in a country doesn’t make them evil”. I’m so sorry that you have to go through this. I’m so sorry that support from non Jewish people is ridiculously scarce. I’m sorry that leftists spaces are so rancid. I’m sorry that the world has ignored you and your suffering. No amount of apologising will change the harm that’s already been done, but I want to support Jewish people as much as I can. I want to hope for a better world
