🛡 Warding 🛡

Disclaimer: This is all based on my research, path, opinion & experiences! Intro: I really was holding out on doing this post because it’s such a big, important topic to cover and I really don’t want to mess it up or get anything wrong. This post needs to be done though, people have asked if I have such a post and an anon suggested it. So finally, here it is.  - What Is Warding? Warding is a type of magick, it is the act of creating an energetic barrier around you, your home, an object, ect. They can be temporary or permanent, although typically they are cast with the long term in mind. They can banish or turn away whatever you choose. Warding is an excellent skill to have because it can keep you, and even others safe and with practice you can do it anytime with just about whatever you have on hand.  When Should I Ward? Whenever you want an energetic barrier around you, most people consistently ward their home, themselves or their place of practice. Some people even ward their space every time they prepare for a spell. It should be done consistently in any area you want protected, but exactly where and how often is entirely up to the practitioner.  What Should I Do Before? Cleanse, a ward is a barrier of energy and in the same way that it keeps things out it also keeps things in. You don’t want to trap anything inside of it. Cleanse yourself before you ward yourself. Cleanse your space before you ward your space!  Tips Before You Ward- Phrasing Keep the phrasing in mind! You don’t want to keep anything out that you want in, or let something in that you want out. If you’re chanting or using sigils ect keep in mind exactly what you want to keep out both in your methods and in your mind. Covering everything Make sure to cover everything, a ward is useless if there’s a weakness in it or if the ceiling & floor aren’t probably covered. Be super thorough!  Layering Your Wards One small little wimpy barrier? Ha, the spirits say as they scramble into your home to wreak havoc! You need to layer your wards, don’t just use one method one time, there’s no such thing as too much warding.  What Are Some Ways That I Can Ward? Now we’ll get right down to the methods you can use to ward yourself and your space! Remember that warding is important and needs to be effective, don’t try anything that you don’t have experience with for warding. At first, focus on the stuff you know. If you like sigils, use sigils at first and slowly work your way into using other more complex methods or methods that solely rely on your abilities. Circle Casting You cast a circle by summoning the four elements to protect & energize what is in the circle.  - Here’s my post about circles & how to cast them  Chanting/Speaking Come up with a protective chant you can use to ward your space. This chant could be someone else’s or your own as long as you feel it’s effective. Speak it aloud and visualize a layer of energy protecting your space.  Incense Burn a protective incense in the space you’d like to ward and visualize a barrier protecting your space. Athame Draw out the line of your ward with your athame, visualize the wall appearing, covering everything with a thick layer of energy.  Spraying Spray a mix of blessed/magickal waters and or herbs with protective properties in the space you want to ward.  Sigils Create a sigil using your favorite method with the intent to “ward” or “protect/protection.” Then charge and activate it as a layer of protection! Here’s my post on sigils if you’re interested in that: - Sigil Post Jar Spells You could mix up a jar spell for warding, set it in your house and forget it as a layer of warding.  - My protective jar spell post Anointment Anoint the doorways of your space, you could also anoint the ceiling, floor, walls, corners, honestly go for it.  Salt Sprinkle salt all around the edge of your home or space. Make sure to sprinkle salt on the INSIDE of your harm as salt can harm plants & wildlife if used outside. If you’d like to make a barrier on the outside of your home, you can use dried & crushed eggshells in place of salt. - Post on how to make eggshell powder here -  Hag stones Hag stones are stones with holes in them that have been corroded into the stone because of rushing water. It is believed rushing water is protective & cleansing so if you wear a stone that sat in it long enough to have parts corroded away, that the stone will maintain and keep those properties with it. It’s a great way to personally ward yourself, and an excuse to go out in nature.  They look like this!

Energy Manipulation If you’ve got a knack for manipulating energy, you can create a barrier through work and visualization that surrounds yourself or your space. This isn’t recommended for beginners though! Links: - Horse Warding Charm By @anothersusurrus - House Warding Spritz Mixture By @seleneblackwell Both of these are great if you’re looking for specific spells, types of magick, correspondences, sigils, ect! - Protection Magic Masterpost Part 1 By @auricwitch - Protection Magic Masterpost Part 2 By @auricwitch Personal Wards Also remember not just to ward your space but yourself, if you layer your home with wards, what happens when you leave? Exactly. Keep yourself safe too! Circle casting & hag stones are great methods I mentioned above that are good for personal warding.  Can I Ward Specific Things And Not Others? Absolutely! I mentioned this in the phrasing section of this post, keep in mind exactly what you want to keep out when you’re warding. I like words like “negative” or “harmful” or “with ill intent” because they don’t necessarily keep out the Fae or positive/neutral spirits but it does keep out anything that wants to harm you in general. Just think about it ahead of time, find wording or a phrase you like and keep that in mind as you ward.  What If I Live With People? If you’re out of the broom closet, explain to your family/roommates what you’re doing and why you’re doing it and make sure they’re cool with it and are aware of what’s going on. If you’re not out of the broom closet, you may have to resort to only warding yourself/your room, & that’s okay!  I hope this helps someone or teaches them something new! Enjoy! Have a lovely day 💖

How to Attract Abundance through your Moon Sign

One of the keys to manifestation is feeling good. That’s a simple way to put it, but what I think people really mean when they say that is that you manifest with your heart (your emotions + subconscious). Astrologically knowing yourself can help you be able to manifest greater things with greater speed! If you understand your moon sign then you have an idea of how you can manifest from the heart. You do this by being comfortable with who you are emotionally and this leads to connecting with other people who value you as well. Knowing yourself means you know what programming is creating your reality, and your emotions play a huge role in that.

aries moon: If you know yourself to be a naturally angry person then own that! Don’t let it own you though, but if you can claim it then the anger won’t have control of you. If you’re a loud, excitable, talkative person then relish in that. There are a lot of people who could use your energy. Sometimes it’s good to be angry. Anger points you to the things that need to change in your life. Make sure to let yourself feel your emotions as they come because repression will never serve you.

taurus moons: Do you ever feel out of place in spaces you occupy? I urge you to let go of that limiting belief. Come to terms with the fact that there are select places that you feel comfortable being yourself in. You know how to fit in better than you think you do. Sometimes your emotions can manifest in a stubborn way that can be off-putting to other people. The truth is that your intuition is sharp as a knife but your way of doing things is just slower than most. You can peacefully remind others that you know yourself and whats best for you better than they do. Accept your way of processing things, do try not to dwell though. Letting go is freedom.

gemini moons: You guys love to talk, and that can be refreshing. There are going to be people who are incredibly receptive to you and people who will seem closed off. This doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate you though. Gemini energy can be exhausting and the world’s culture at the moment is socially draining in many areas already. None of this is good or bad, but I think you should simply appreciate those who are receptive to you. You’re very perceptive and social so you need to be sure that you’re sharing information with people who actually deserve to hear you. Trust me, once you accept that you have a lot to say you will meet the people who are eager to hear you.

cancer Moons: I know it a cliche but you guys are prone to being sensitive. That word is thrown around a lot but I’m using it in an elevated sense. You are sensitive to energy, emotions, souls, occult sources. You’re taking in a lot of energy all the time. Don’t feel guilty for feeling drained and needing to spend time away from other people. Accept your emotional nature and share it with the right people. If you feel like those people aren’t around they might come once you truly embody your inner nature. You need people who you feel safe around. Your sense of safety is actually very important for you to feel free and powerful. Use your sensitive heart to attract grand experiences.

leo moons: If you have a leo moon you have somewhat of a paradoxical task. Leo moons attract the most when they feel beautiful, important, and appreciated. The shadow of that is that it’s easy to fall into a pattern of needing other people to affirm those things. You don’t need anyone else to see you to be a light. Once you let yourself love yourself and move beyond needing attention from other people you’ll find that people suddenly start wanting to give it to you. Stay grounded in alignment with yourself and appreciate the energy without craving it. A well evolved leo moon is a powerful manifestor because they believe in themselves with utter surety.

virgo moons: Do you feel most comfortable when you’re helping other people? Maybe even fixing them? There’s a fine line between service and selfish service. There is service rooted in compassion and empathy and there is service rooted in denial and control. Make sure you’re not helping other people because it feels good to help someone who struggles with something that you do too. You have to deal with the roots of your own wounds first to be able to tend to other peoples from a truly empathetic way.

libra moons: Learn to trust your intuition and to not need outside counsel. It’s okay to seek opinions from those who are close to you or spiritual/esoteric sources, but not if it’s rooted in doubting your own inner voice. This might be hard because your mind and head always seem to be arguing. Of course that makes it hard to decide which voice to tune in to (the heart’s voice may be a better bet). Feeling like you fit in to your environment is probably really important to you, but like taurus moons, you need to know you’re valuable and worthy no matter where you’re at. This seems like a Venusian lesson, a self consciousness or awareness of oneself that blocks you from your true power. Trust me, the general consensus is that you’re charming and sweet.

scorpio moons: If you haven’t dabbled in the occult then you should try it out. You can find a lot of power through metaphysical belief systems. This is a healthy way to achieve power and control. Remember, the only thing you can truly control is the way you react to stimuli. The moon is in detriment in scorpio, you guys are very emotionally wiitholding… from most people. You have a small tribe who knows the real you. Own it. You know how to be who you need to be, when you need to be them. Your detachment allows you to approach things from a more logical perspective. Analytical. When applied to emotions or the spirit you become a soul scientist, craft your magic scorpio moons.

sagittarius moons: Keep your mind stimulated! Always strive to be learning something new. Have fun while you’re doing it though. I know that school is a point of both love and contention for you, people may have place unachievable expectations on you academically. You love to learn and see though! Find a flow in life that makes you feel free but present in yourself. Appreciate your scattered emotions, you move on quickly and that allows you to look back with improved clarity even sooner than others might.

capricorn moons: Whatever you want to manifest you’re going to have to work for, I feel. Don’t let that discourage you. It’s your natural energy to be in a position where you feel a sense of duty. In this case perhaps emotional duty. Take a note from capricorn’s tarot card, The Devil, and take care of yourself first above all other humans so that you may be present and available to the people who deserve you. Your ability to detach can be a gift as long as you give yourself some time to feel whatever it is you’re detaching from first. You have a tendency to stay off in your own zone and observe other people and evaluate them. It’s important that you accept your emotions and don’t let them become numb or cold. Honor them.

aquarius moons: Do you feel like people don’t understand your emotions? So what, you know how to connect with people’s minds and that’s a beautiful thing. You know your heart and once you stop being emotionally witholding from yourself you will find the people who can See you. Honor your unique way of processing emotions and work on becoming more comfortable with feeling intense emotions. Achieving a healthy balance between analysis and feeling will serve you well.

pisces moons: Do people ever try to convince you that you’re confused about how you feel when it’s really them? Or maybe you seem like you don’t feel a lot about something when in reality you’ve lost sleep over it. I’m sorry if you’ve had those experiences. Your heart is unique and beautiful but not everyone will know how to handle it with genuine care. Learn to trust your intuition and work on processing and healing any residual wounds from your past. Avoid feeling like a martyr or victim in situations that you played a role in creating. This is so that you don’t forget your power.

😌Magical Self-Care😌

Recently I have been really stressful and in the near future I need a little personal time. You know just me, a good book, a cup of tea and some self care.

In one of Arin Murphy-Hiscock’s book called ‘The Witch’s Book of Self-Care’ I found some good recipes which I’m gonne try as soon as possible!

🍪Vanilla Cookie Sugar Scrub🍪

This lovely scrub will make your skin so smooth and glowing! Plus it has amazing smell.

You need:

  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extrac
  • 4-ounce glass jar or plastic storage container with lid
  • Additional: to make it smell more amazing, you can add a pinch of ground cinnamon or giner and allspice!
  • Additional: I gonna try to add some pumpkin spice to the scrub to make it smell like autumn!

How to do it:

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a small jar.
  • To use, massage onto skin
  • After rinse with warm water
  • Pat dry.

🌸Relaxing Bath Oil🌸

‘This is a lovely, all-purpose blend for relaxing in the bath. It’s good before bed, or when you need to unwind after a tense day at work.‘

You need:

  • Rose quartz stone ( Make sure the stone is small enough to fit in the bottle you intend to use.)
  • 1 cup carrier oil of you choice
  • Bottle with lid
  • 5 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops lavender essential oil
  • 3 drops frankincense essential oil
  • 2 drops sandalwood essential oil
  • White candle and candleholder
  • Matches or lighter
  • Label and pen or marker

How to do it:

  • Cleanse the stone
  • Pour the carrier oil into the bottle. Add the essential oils. Cap the bottle and gently shake to blend the oils.
  • Pour the carrier oil into the bottle. Add the essential oils. Cap the bottle and gently shake to blend the oils.
  • Let the candle burn down. Label the bottle
  • Allow the oil to rest at least a week, if possible, to develop before using.
  • To use, add 2–4 tablespoons to your bath and swish your hands around to help disperse the oil in the water.

🍚Magical Body Butter Blend: Serenity🍚

As you can see this blend contains jasmine, rose and lavender oil to create a blend that attracts balance and peace. The blue candle and amethyst, jade, and moonstone also work to underline peace and to calm stress.

You need:

  • 1 recipe Body Butter
  • 4 drops jasmine essential oil
  • 4 drops rose essential oil
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • Pale blue candle and candleholder
  • Matches or lighter
  • Amethyst stone
  • Jade stone
  • Moonstone

How to do it:

  • Prepare the Body Butter as per the previous recipe, adding the jasmine, rose, and lavender oils where essential oils are indicated in the recipe.
  • When the Magical Body Butter is finished and placed in the container, bring it to your work space. Set the candle in the center of the work space, place the container of butter in front of it, and arrange the three stones in a semicircle in front of the container.
  • Light the pale blue candle, and say: Spirits of serenity, I invite you here. Lend to this butter your peace, your calm. May I be blessed by you each time I use it. .
  • Touch the amethyst and say, “Amethyst, I invoke your calm. Lend it to this butter.”
  • Touch the jade and say, “Jade, I invoke your tranquility. Lend it to this butter.” 6. Touch the moonstone and say, “Moonstone, I invoke your peace. Lend it to this butter.”
  • Sit at your work space with your eyes closed, breathing deeply, sensing the calm around you. When you feel it is right, you may extinguish the candle and leave, or allow the candle to burn down completely to continue to charge the butter.

🌼Herbal Tea Hair Rinse🌼

Just as an addiction I added my herbal hair rinse to this list because for me it works really well. My hair is less greasy plus I love the smell of my hair after this rinse. 😊

You need:

  • 1 tablespoon of Chamomile tea
  • 1 tablespoon of  Green tea
  • 1 tablespoon of Jasmine tea
  • 1 tablespoon of Peppermint tea
  • 1 tablespoon of Lavender tea
  • 1 tablespoon of  Rooibos tea
  • Additional: One of them drawed my attention to rosemary which can be a good addition to this recipe! So if you would like to add rosemary as well in my opinion 1 tablespoon of it will be enough.

How to do it:

  • Brew a strong tea out of the herbs. (Because I have long hair I usually make 1 liter of strong brew.)
  • Let it sit and cool to roome temperature.
  • After washing your hair and putting your regular balming your hair,  slowly pour the brew through your hair and massage your scalp.
  • You can rinse with water your hair after the herbal rinse, but personally I love leaving out this step because water makes the good herbal tea smell go away.

🍵Herbal tea for relaxation🍵

As I mentioned before there is no relaxation without a good cup of your favorite tea. Here I mention some tea which is excellent for reliving stress and soothing both your body and mind.

Calming teas:

  • Chamomile: used for antianxiety, relaxation
  • Green Tea: helps combat anxiety and stress,  keeps you alert yet calm enough without making you feel drowsy
  • Lavender: relaxation, good for addressing emotional stress
  • Lemon Balm: soothe headaches, calm anxiety, and treat insomnia
  • Lemon Verbena: promotes restful sleep, works as an antiinflammatory, improves digestion, calms nerves, eases stress, functions as an antioxidant
  • Passion Flower: combats anxiety, panic, insomnia, and depression, calms nerve pain, help balance mood
  • Peppermint:  reduce stress and relieves you from anxiety,
  • Rose tea:  helps remedy stress and anxiety,  calming effect
  • Skullcap: treat anxiety, headaches, and insomnia, promotes relaxation
  • Vervain:  possesses an antianxiety, relaxant, sedative effect, strong antioxidant, it packs a lot of vitamin C

Organising a Grimoire:

🍁Table of contents is a must.

🍁Try and plan what you're going to write down and when.

🍁Perhaps write down every idea you have in a notebook aside first to organise and plan.

🍁Perhaps first write it in pencil, then go over later.

🍁Print out photos, dry out flowers and herbs, add stickers, doodle and more to decorate your Grimoire if you want. It makes it more personal, but in the end the most important thing is that you understand it

🍁And remember that it is your Grimoire, don't compare yourself to anyone else. That book is yours and that's the specialist thing of all♡

I truly hope this helps someone out there♡x
