happy anniversary to the game that truly changed my life, yokai watch 2 - i am a person of great hyperbole, but me saying that this game changed my life is far from that. if it wasn't for me finding this game when i was around 9 or 10, begging my best friend to watch the anime on cartoon network with me and subsequently infodumping to my dad about why i needed fleshy souls digitally downloaded to befriend sailornyan... i never would be taking the creative writing degree i am now, aspiring towards authorhood and generally having dreams for the first time in a long time.
yokai watch 2 is a game that plays on the past a lot - childhood memories, playfulness, mourning days that haven't come yet, all of that - but the future it brought with it has been just as beautiful. i hope this game has touched as many people as it did me; with that glimpse of kemamoto-mura youth comes childhood imaginations, and thus i wanted to create a piece that resembled a child's artwork but also something i would've drawn at these four's age.
