But the thing is, even with the short stature she carries herself as an ADULT! He voice actor has a mature voice and never once can you even think that she isn't an adult. Both dub and sub make sure that she sounds like an adult and the anime itself makes it well known she is an adult. She is also at a reasonable height despite being short

Maomoa is very similar as she is also a short character and also 17-18, and she carries herself like an adult. Despite being younger than Jinshi (purple haired male) and shorter, she is still at a reasonable height. It is also pointed out that she is short for a human anyway but you never see her eye level with someone's crotch, with the majority of the time her eye level being someone's chest or neck. She also has a voice actress that doesn't infantalize her and while she does have very goofy moments, it's always just her being autistic about poisons.

Now, apothecary diaries does have sexualization of characters but it is a historical anime taking place around concubines and prostitutes. There is one character who is a concubine and only 14 BUT THE PREVIOUS EMPEROR IS CALLED A PEDOPHILE AT EVERY SINGLE MOMENT FOR LILING HER! It is very anti-loli if anything and even the character Lishu is in the most clothing and protected at every chance people can get.

Tbh, you can't go an episode with her in it without the previous emperor being called a pedo or the main character going "This is a fucking child, she doesn't deserve this"! Like it is not hard to not write lolibait or get your child characters to be children.

I think we can very reasonably segregate real and good representation of diverse bodies vs the sexualisation of minors. And this argument that if you’re against lolibait, you’re against women, is really weird.

Also, have to also add that this goes for men too! I have started to see a massive rise in the sexualization of BOYS in anime and media as people get more and more okay with gay folks and it is also deeply gross. Instead, this time the excuse isn't "you hate women/asians/little people" but you hate gay people and yaoi when like, no. That is just a child.

I have seen to many people ship boys in media starting at 3 years old when that is objectively disgusting. That is a child and his best friend.
