Danielle Locklear (15) was a young, bright girl with her whole future ahead of her when her life was tragically taken on March 11th, 2014. Danielle is originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but she was living in Hope Mills, North Carolina at the time of her death. She lived with her grandparents and was very close with her aunt, who also lived in Hope Mills. Danielle moved to Hope Mills during June of 2013. After finishing her 2012-2013 school year in Myrtle Beach, she went to Hope Mills to spend the summer with her grandparents. While there, Danielle attended summer camp and also attended several church events with her family members. She made several new friends in Hope Mills and also began dating a 17-year-old named Je'Michael Malloy. Danielle and Je'Michael met through church, and her family members believed he was a kind and respectful young man. Danielle was reportedly very smitten with him. According to her aunt, Danielle would light up every time Je'Michael was around. When the summer was coming to an end, Danielle asked her mother if she could stay in Hope Mills instead of returning to Myrtle Beach. She had become quite attached to all of her new friends and her new boyfriend, so she wanted to make Hope Mills her permanent home. Danielle’s family members decided to let her stay in Hope Mills, knowing that she was surrounded by several loving family members in the area. She was enrolled in Cape Fear High School, where she participated in ROTC and got straight A’s on her report card. However, by Christmastime in 2013, Danielle and her boyfriend Je'Michael began going through a rough patch. They reportedly broke up around this time, but were back together a week later. This pattern of breaking up and getting back together continued throughout the next few months. In early March 2014, Danielle’s family members noticed that she seemed down, and not like her normal energetic self. They attributed her seemingly sad mood to her relationship troubles with Je'Michael, which on the surface seemed to be fairly typical teenage troubles. Danielle still spent time with her friends, and her loved ones thought she would eventually move on from this high school relationship. Her family members could have never predicted that she would not return after leaving her home on the evening of March 11th, 2014. That evening, Danielle told her step-grandfather that her friend Alexis had asked her to drop off a textbook at her house. Alexis lived nearby, so they expected Danielle to be back shortly. Unfortunately, though, Danielle never returned home. Her worried family members reported her missing the following morning. Weeks later, on April 2nd, 2014, an off-duty police officer was on a bridge near the South River when he noticed something unusual in the water. The officer called 911, and investigators were sent to the scene. The unusual something that the officer noticed ended up being something far more tragic: it was the body of a young girl. Shortly thereafter, the body was identified as that of Danielle Locklear. She had been found with large cinderblocks tied around her waist. A sock was found stuffed in her mouth. It was clear that the young girl had been brutally murdered. The Hope Mills community had been rocked by Danielle’s disappearance. Danielle’s family members clung to hope that she would return home safely. Those hopes were ripped away from them after Danielle’s body was found. At that point, the missing persons investigation was shifted into a homicide case.

Jasmine Cruz vanished in Deep Water, West Virginia on April 1st, 2016. The then-30-year-old woman left her mother's home on Boonesboro Road after an argument. Jasmine never returned and has never been seen or heard from again.

Certain reports state that Jasmine was last seen running into the woods near the water. Other initial reports state that she left the home and headed towards Montgomery. It's unclear if anyone saw Jasmine after leaving her mother's residence. Jasmine's family contacted Fayette County authorities after she did not return home. However, the sheriff's office initially did not feel Jasmine was in any danger.

In fact, on April 12th, 2016 - 12 days after Jasmine's disappearance - Sheriff Steve Kessler shared information about Jasmine on the family's behalf but stated that investigators were not searching for the missing woman. The report on Kessler's announcement states, "the Sheriff's Office is not actively searching for Cruz. She has not committed any crimes, and even if deputies located her, they could not force her to return home against her will. Cruz’s mother is concerned for her daughter’s safety, however, and has asked for the assistance of the public in helping attempt to locate her daughter."

A month after Jasmine's disappearance, investigators changed their tune. During May 2016, police reportedly received a tip that Jasmine may have been a victim of foul play. It appears that investigators followed up on this tip, but it is unknown if anything substantial was found. Searches in the area from where Jasmine vanished ended unsuccessfully.

Since then, years have passed without any updates in Jasmine's case. She remains missing today. If you have any information that could help solve Jasmine's disappearance, please submit a tip.

23-year-old Vanessa Cocly was tragically murdered by her ex-boyfriend on March 31st, 2018. She left her family’s Orlando, Florida home that evening around 8pm, after telling her parents that she would be back in a few hours. When Vanessa still was not home by the following morning, her parents used her Google Services account to track her phone’s location. The tracker revealed that Vanessa’s phone was at the home of 32-year-old Christian Ruben Valentin Penchi—her ex-boyfriend. Vanessa’s parents were actually not worried when they first tracked her phone. Although Vanessa and Christian had broken up, Vanessa’s parents were relieved to see that she was still in the area and that her phone was still active. Her parents began to worry the following day when they noticed that her phone was shut off and she still had not returned home. She also had not shown up for her first day of training for her new job at Disney, nor did she show up for Easter dinner. Vanessa’s mother reported her missing around 5:00 PM on April 2nd. She told investigators that Vanessa’s phone had been tracked to Christian’s home the previous day. However, when investigators went to talk to Christian on April 3rd, he was nowhere to be found. As it turns out, he had boarded a flight to Puerto Rico just hours earlier. There were no records of Vanessa boarding a flight with him, so the possibility of her traveling with him was quickly ruled out. It was later revealed that Christian had visited a pawn shop just hours before Vanessa was reported missing. While there, Christian sold a .380 caliber handgun. Investigators found it suspicious that Christian had pawned a gun and left the country shortly after the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend. The suspicions continued to build after Vanessa’s car was located at a Panda Express restaurant near Christian’s home on April 4th. Investigators found Vanessa’s backpack with her schoolbooks in the back seat of her car, and her credit cards and purse in the trunk. Meanwhile, Christian’s brother contacted the police that same day to report Christian missing. At this point, it was clear to investigators that Christian had not told anybody about any travel plans to Puerto Rico, and it appeared that he had, in fact, fled the country.

Sacoya Cooper has been missing since August 31st, 2021. The then-33-year-old was last seen driving away from her home in Columbus, Ohio. Sacoya left her residence that evening to go to a nearby corner store. She never returned and has never been seen or heard from again.

Sacoya lived with her partner, Richard Harris, in the Cremeans Park area at the time of her disappearance. According to Harris, Sacoya left their home at 11:30 PM to buy bottled water from the corner store. By all accounts, this was supposed to be a quick errand - so after hours passed without any sign of Sacoya, Harris began to call her phone several times. The calls went unanswered; the phone appeared to be turned off.

The following morning, Harris contacted Sacoya's friend, Bre Belcher, and asked if she had spent the night at her place. When Bre replied that she also had not seen or heard from Sacoya, the two decided to contact Columbus Police to report Sacoya missing.

Weeks passed without any sign of Sacoya. Then, in mid-October, the black 2009 Ford Fusion that she was last seen driving was found abandoned in the west side of Columbus. The car did not have its original license plate; it had been replaced with a stolen one. Investigators later announced that, while processing the car, they found evidence that led them to believe that Sacoya was a victim of foul play. Due to the ongoing investigation, detectives have not shared what, exactly, was found.

A year after Sacoya's disappearance, the FBI joined the investigation. A monetary reward of at least $10,000 was offered in exchange for information that could solve Sacoya's case. Investigators noted that they believe there are "witnesses in the community" who know what happened to Sacoya.

Years have passed since the reward was announced, but Sacoya still remains missing. She is described as a black transgender woman with brown hair and brown eyes, approximately 5'5" and 145 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing black braids and a black and white summer dress.

If you have any information that could help solve the disappearance of Sacoya Cooper, please submit a tip.

Amanda Grazewski has been missing since March 2020. The then-23-year-old was last seen in Derry, New Hampshire. At the time of her disappearance, Amanda was staying at a residence on Birch Street. Reports state that Amanda seemingly vanished from the residence overnight. She has never been seen or heard from again.

Amanda struggled with drug addiction since she was a teenager. Due to this, Amanda's mother had custody of her daughter. Reports indicate that Amanda tended to live a more transient lifestyle, but she never went more than a week without getting in touch with someone. According to family and friends, Amanda seemed to be doing better in early March 2020, which made her disappearance all the more baffling.

The circumstances surrounding Amanda's disappearance are quite suspicious. It's reported that Amanda arrived at the residence in Birch Street with three or four other people on March 17th, 2020. She had a bag of clothes with her, in addition to her purse, phone, and other personal belongings. However, Amanda left all of those items behind when she reportedly left the residence in the middle of the night. Her fate since that night remains a mystery to this day.

UPDATE:

Amanda's remains have been found.

Five years after her disappearance, on March 20th, 2025, a drone was flown over Hoodkroft Country Club. The drone was flown over the country club's golf course after investigators received a tip regarding Amanda's disappearance. At some point, the drone pilot spotted something of interest. Police were called, and it turned out the "something of interest" that the pilot spotted was, in fact, human remains.

Days later, it was confirmed that those remains were that of Amanda Grazewski. The discovery of her remains marks the end of the heartbreaking search for her loved ones, however they are now left with questions about what happened to her.

The investigation into Amanda's death is still ongoing. Anyone with information that could help solve the case is asked to contact authorities.

Rest in peace, Amanda.

In 2003, this bizarre skeleton was discovered in a deserted Chilean town. It is 6-inches long and estimated to be just a few decades old. The skeleton was nicknamed “Ata” and has an oddly shaped skull and 10 ribs. Conspiracy theorists worldwide theorise that it is an extraterrestrial. However, scientists determined that the skeleton is human.

Bekime ‘Becky’ Elshani vanished in Colorado Springs, Colorado during the early morning hours of March 29th, 2008. The 22 year-old vanished in the midst of a volatile relationship with her live-in boyfriend Daniel Dereere. Becky and Daniel had recently reconciled after Becky briefly rekindled a relationship with her ex-husband Wesley Bartle. Her family members were unsure of why Becky would want to reunite with Daniel, as the two of them had both been arrested for assaulting each other during previous incidents. Becky actually had a case pending against Daniel at the time of their reconciliation. In January 2008, while Becky was dating Wesley, Daniel allegedly hacked into Becky’s Myspace page and posted a nude picture of her. Becky pursued charges against Daniel, but then got back together with him a short time later. Daniel was scheduled to appear in court for those charges on April 1st, 2008—just 3 days after Becky vanished.

Becky was last seen by her family members on the evening of March 28th, when she and Daniel went to her parent’s home in Colorado Springs. According to Becky’s sister Fatime Elshani, Daniel and Becky got into an argument at the Elshani home. Fatime stated, He started yelling at her; she kept saying she didn’t want to leave. We kept telling her to stay but Daniel insisted that she left with him. That was the last time I ever saw her.” The final sighting of Becky was around 1:15am on March 29th; she was in the 100 block of West Rockrimmon Boulevard. Becky has never been seen or heard from again.

Two days later, on March 31st, 2008, police went to Becky’s apartment to perform a welfare check. Upon approaching the residence, police heard gunfire. They entered the apartment and found Daniel dead from a gunshot wound. He had shot himself. Becky was still nowhere to be found, and there was otherwise no sign of a struggle at the apartment. Still, investigators clearly found it suspicious that Daniel took his own life two days after Becky vanished, and one day before he was supposed to appear in court for the charges from posting Becky’s nude pictures on Myspace. Investigators searched Daniel’s car and reportedly found evidence that indicated foul play was involved in Becky’s disappearance, however they have not specified what exactly was found. Investigators did reveal that Daniel drove his car to a park in Teller County just hours after Becky was last seen. Unfortunately, though, a search of the park turned up no evidence.

Daniel did not leave a note or any other evidence/messages that indicated he knew of Becky’s whereabouts. It is widely believed that Daniel killed Becky and dumped her body before taking his own life, however due to the fact that Daniel is deceased and Becky has never been found, investigators have been unable to verify this. Becky’s case remains open today and a $5000 reward is being offered for anyone with information on her disappearance. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please contact the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7595.

This photograph is of Joe Metheny, a serial killer who claimed he made burgers out of his victims and sold them on his BBQ stand.

He was born into a troubled family environment and his childhood was marred by hardship. His father, an alcoholic, died when Metheny was just six years old, and his mother worked multiple jobs to support her six children. This contradicted Metheny’s later claims of neglect and foster care. Despite his assertions, his mother insisted he had a stable home life and that his upbringing was far from the troubled narrative he spun.

Metheny joined the U.S. Army in 1973, where he claimed he served in Vietnam, developing a heroin addiction. However, his mother disputed this, stating he was stationed in Germany, and there’s no verified evidence of his involvement in Vietnam. Following his service, Metheny’s life spiralled into addiction, and he became entangled with Baltimore’s homeless community, spending most of his money on drugs and alcohol.

Metheny’s violent crimes began in 1994 when he murdered Cathy Ann Magaziner. He later admitted to 13 brutal murders involving young female victims addicted to drugs. His chilling confessions included desecrating bodies and disposing of remains. He also claimed that he turned the flesh of his victims into burgers and sold them at his BBQ stand.

In 1996, he attempted to kill Rita Kemper, who managed to escape and alert authorities, leading to his arrest. In 1998, Metheny was sentenced to life without parole after his initial death sentence was overturned. He died in his prison cell in 2017.

Pictured top: Erin Everett (25) and her fiancé Tory Minnick (21) circa 2010. The two lived in the conservative town of Jerome, Pennsylvania and had a whirlwind romance that turned fatal on March 25th, 2011.

Shortly before they met, Erin had come out to her family members, who were initially quite reluctant to accept her sexuality. Tory, on the other hand, had recently broken off her engagement to a man named Kody Donaldson (24). The two reportedly fell fast for each other, and Erin ended up proposing to Tory early into their relationship. Tory accepted, and Erin’s parents eventually agreed to allow Tory to move into their family’s home. The girls appeared to be a happy couple to their family and friends, however behind closed doors things were beginning to fall apart.

The couple began to fight more often after Tory moved into the Everett family home. Erin’s mother had suspicions that Tory was physically abusive towards Erin. Despite this, Erin told others that Tory was the love of her life and she wanted to make their relationship work. In the following months, their fights escalated as Tory began to spend more and more weekends away from Erin—opting to visit her hometown in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania instead. Erin eventually learned that Tory had rekindled her relationship with her ex-fiancé Kody, and she had been spending her weekends in Meyersdale with him.

This realization caused Erin to snap. While Tory slept on the evening of March 25th, 2011, Erin used her father’s gun to shoot Tory twice in the head. Then, she hit Tory twice in the head with a hammer. After a failed attempt to remove Tory’s body from her family’s home, Erin called her mother and told her that an intruder had broken into their home and attacked Tory. The police were called as well, and when they arrived, they found Tory’s body amongst the bloody crime scene inside the home.

Erin told police the same story she told her mother—that a masked intruder entered their home and attacked/killed Tory. She specifically told police that the intruder told her he was there for Tory and not her. It is believed that Erin said this in attempt to point the finger at Tory’s ex, Kody Donaldson. However, police were quickly able to get in touch with him, and he had an airtight alibi that proves he was not at the home when the murder occurred. Police then brought Erin back to the station for questioning, where she eventually admitted to killing Tory after finding out she had been unfaithful.

Despite confessing to the crime, Erin ended up pleading not guilty to first degree murder. Before trial, her defense attorney argued that Tory’s murder was triggered by Battered Women’s Syndrome after she had repeatedly abused Erin. Lead defense attorney Bryan Peck explained, I believe that it was premeditated, but I believe that that premeditation was a result of something outside of Erin Everett’s control.” The judge overseeing the case stated that there was not enough evidence that physical abuse occurred in their relationship for the attorney’s claim to be admitted in court. Due to this, the court ultimately convicted Erin Everett of first degree murder in November 2014. She was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Angela Burris has been missing since April 19th, 2021. The then-36-year-old woman left her residence in Kings Mountain, North Carolina during the early evening. Shortly after, Angela was seen getting into a black sedan driven by an unidentified male. She never returned home and has never been seen or heard from again.

At the time of her disappearance, Angela lived on Lake Montonia Road with family members. Angela's aunt was the last person to see her at the residence before she vanished. Her aunt recalls seeing her sitting outside the home with a duffel bag and a teddy bear, as if she was waiting for someone to come pick her up.

It appears nobody in the family actually saw Angela leaving the residence. However, a family friend reported seeing her getting into the black sedan near the residence around 5:00 PM. The driver of the vehicle is described as a black man with black hair and a goatee. It appears that nobody in Angela's family knew this man, and he has still never been identified.

Angela's family reported her missing on April 28th, 2021. It was noted that she had disappeared for short periods before in the past, but it was unusual for her to stay out of touch with family, especially her daughter. Detectives followed leads when the case was first opened but were unable to find anything substantial. Months turned into years without any sign of Angela as her disappearance became a cold case.

Over three years after Angela disappearance, in August 2024, it was reported that new leads had prompted a large-scale search for her in a wooded area of Gaston County. Investigators stated that the leads were brought on by advances in technology that allowed them to narrow down a "more fine point of a last known contact area for [Angela]", which is what lead the investigators to that area.

The search was conducted by over 60 people from several different law enforcement agencies. Over 20 acres of land was scoured, but nothing was found. Despite this, investigators stated that they have not given up on their search for Angela and are now seeking more leads in the case.

Angela's family members have also not given up hope that they will find answers. If you have any information that could lead to Angela's whereabouts, please contact the Kings Mountain Police Department at 704-734-0444.

UPDATE (March 2025): Angela's remains have been found and identified.

In April 2022 - about a year after Angela vanished - human remains were found in Gastonia. It took 3 years for the remains to be identified, but on February 25th, 2025, officials confirmed that the remains were that of Angela Burris.

An investigation into her death is ongoing. Rest in peace, Angela.

The Disappearance of Adam, Trevor & Mitchell O'Brien

March 10, 2025

On November 9, 1996, a man named Gary O'Brien from Torbay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, called his ex-wife, Diana Boland, to let her know their three sons who had been visiting him over the weekend would not be coming home.

The O'Brien boys, 14-year-old Adam, 11-year-old Trevor, and 4-year-old Mitchell, had gone to see their father on that November day. Gary did not have custody of the children at the time. The call was made at 8:30 pm with Gary also telling Diana that he had rigged his house so that it would explode if anyone were to enter.

Diana asked Gary if she could speak to her sons, with him replying "later" and hanging up. Diana's sister, who was with her at the time, called the police.

The police arrived at Gary's residence and discovered that he had set up a makeshift bomb using two 400 lbs. propane tanks. Diana believed her ex-husband had done this to create a diversion. Gary had a previous history with violence, suicidal tendencies, and psychiatric problems.

Note: there seems to be little information in how the police handled this on the day of.

In October 1997, almost one year later, an engine assembly for a 1989 Ford Tempo (possibly from Gary's vehicle) was found in the ocean near Flatrock, about 10 km from where his sons disappeared. No bodies were found from that location. It has been widely believed that Gary murdered his sons and then took his own life.

Diana believed Gary had dumped the engine of his car over the cliffs to the ocean to mislead the police. In 1998, the Thunder Bay police received an anonymous top from a woman who claimed to have recognized the pictures of the O'Brien brothers.

This woman claimed to have allegedly babysat the boys and even knew the nickname of one of them. Police tried to locate the woman into 1999 but were unsuccessful. The woman said she babysat the boys after their disappearance, suggesting they were still alive.

Gary's sister believes he and his sons are dead, though Diana believes her sons are still alive and that Gary could have taken them to a religious commune and put them in an environment with no access to technology or the world, in order to brainwash them.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has created various age progression photos of each O'Brien boy with the most recent ones being released in early 2017. The case remains unsolved.

On March 8, 2019, former detention officer Kirk Martin was arrested in connection with a horrifying case of sexual and psychological abuse. The prior afternoon, he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment using a spare key, attacked her, and subjected her to brutal assault.

After violating her, Martin locked her in a closet, keeping her confined for hours as she tried to calm him down, eventually persuading him they might reconcile. Following this, Martin permitted her to leave the closet but restricted her to the bedroom.

When Martin finally left, the woman was able to FaceTime her mother, instructing her to call 911. Police arrived quickly, leading to Martin's arrest. His mugshot, taken as he was booked into Murray County Jail, revealed visible scratches inflicted by the victim in her struggle to defend herself. During questioning, Martin admitted that he had "let things get too far" and disclosed that tensions had been high following their recent breakup.

In November 2019, Martin was sentenced to life without parole. At trial, prosecutors presented substantial evidence and witness testimony, and shortly after his arrest, two additional victims came forward, recounting instances of abuse dating as far back as 2012.

if i’m ever brutally murdered and everyone feels like they need to do something productive in my memory, all i want is for you to pass legislation banning LED headlights in my name. regardless of how irrelevant it is to my murder. it’s relevant to my heart.
