That baby bird was tiny, it didn't even have all of its feathers, and it couldn't sing. So, I suggested we take it inside, place it on the shelf by the window, and asked the adults to fashion a cage for it. We decided that when it regained its strength enough to spread its wings, we would release it back into the wild. The tragic part โ€” something that we'd never considered โ€” was that this bird's fate had already been determined long before this moment... Its destiny was determined by our momentary whim. Now, I pass the power of choice to you all. Faced with this situation, what choice would you make? Stick to the original plan, and build a nest with soft net where the Charmony Dove fell? Or build a cage for it, and feed it, giving it the utmost care from within the warmth of a home? I eagerly await your answer.

How have you been? It has been quite a while.

I must admit that our lapse in communication was my fault, in part. I have had many an opportunity present itself to write, however I have never quite figured out what exactly to tell you. I canโ€™t quite say I have a lack of subject matter, my days have been very busy, but itโ€™s figuring out how to word it, that stops me.

Every time I do set aside time to write, I struggle to come up with more words than โ€˜I miss youโ€™. You deserve more than that. I could wax poetic about how much I adore you, how much Iโ€™ve been craving the feeling of your touch, and your eyes, and your smile, but it wouldnโ€™t be enough. If I am to write to you, I need to do this right.

So I come to you with my heart open. The sweetest sorrow fills me whenever I think of you, and that is very often, indeed. Never think that you are not in my thoughts, you are a constant presence within them. I love you now, and I love you always, and I will never stop loving you as long as my heart beats and my lungs fill with air. It pains me to part from you so suddenly but this, as all things do, will pass. As soon as time permits it, you will be in my arms once more. And then maybe, I will feel complete again.
