-im not hungry so i forgot to do the part of the conversation where i tell you i dont want dinner when you asked what i wanted for dinner because i don't want anything so the question is returning a null integer. did you know bed bugs might have originated in neolithic caves and switched from infesting bat fur to infesting human furs when humans started inhabiting caves and driving all the bats out, and they've lived in our beds for a hundred thousand years. did you know that cellar spiders are almost always the descendants of cave spiders, carried from quarry to foundation and left to flourish for decades, centuries. did you know that a possible origin for the american house cockroach was probably a bark-dwelling species that kept getting transferred into the walls and roofs of new houses and then found an endless wealth of crumbs in their new big square tree. can you feel some kind of love and reverence for these strange neighbors of ours that we built into our homes over and over and two whom humans are an endless and eternal blessing. isn't it nice to think that to a few precious, annoying little critters, we're home.

A random concept that just crept into my brain. A new server/realm. Philza fucks off into the middle of nowhere to be alone like usual. Whatever evil entity is like "perfect! I can grab this guy for my experiments and no one will miss him. He's out here in the middle of nowhere, not as immediately geared up as the sweats, he obviously has no friends." And so he grabs Philza. To his surprise, less than half a day later and despite no one actually knowing where Philza went, half the server turns up at his remote hideaway looking for him. They find evidence of a fight (Philza didn't exactly go quietly) and word immediately spreads that Philza has been kidnapped and they start hunting for him. Evil entity is all like ???, and philza is like "Yeah, this is why i go out into the middle of nowhere. It doesn't work, I still haven't found a way to stop people just turning up and using my base as a meetup spot."

Gillion canonically does not look Finn beyond being Fish People, at least according to Drey in the BLOCK arc. The Undersea has very strict societal expectations regarding marriage and polyamory (specifically, polyamory is punishable by death), so I think it would be very interesting narratively if Gillion was a product of infidelity, or at the very least if he wasn’t fully related to Edyn.

He’s meant to be a paragon of virtue for the Undersea, so if he was secretly an Actual Bastard that would probably fuck with him. If he doesn’t look like a Tidestrider, that means he probably looks like a Zomezath. It’s another part of his identity stripped away from him, and it’s information he took for granted that gets flipped on its head. If he’s not a Tidestrider, and if his prophecy is not what the Elders told him it was, then what is he? He’s both the product of a prophecy and a mistake punishable by death.

I think Edyn would put much less weight on it than Gillion would, but she would probably see it as another thing the Undersea (and potentially the Elders) kept from her regarding Gillion. She’s seen the corruption the Undersea is ridden with and how it hurts Gillion, and I think if Gillion realizes that he’s a product of an illegal coupling, it’ll hurt him a lot. Edyn’s made it very clear that one of her biggest goals right now is to help Gillion come home. It could be very fun and angsty also if they have a chat about what it means to be a family. something something it doesn’t matter that we’re not fully siblings by blood, because we choose each other. Even if he’s not a Tidestrider by blood, he’s still Edyn and Finn’s family.

Also it’s hinted that their parents did not have much to do with Gillion. I imagine having a kid out of wedlock would lead to a lot of complicated feelings, especially if that kid is also a Prophetic Champion.

He would not feel good about that. Even if it wasn't infidelity, he's a Tidestrider, that's one of the Thing he just Is. And to find out he's not would be. Ough.
