This is a ref I made for my Welcome Home insert~ She's a siren mermaid who lives in the neighborhood pond! I realized I had the ability to draw one of my favorite Pokemon characters with one of my favorite Pokemon! And since Proton will be coming to Pokemon Masters soon (HYPE), I decided to celebrate! <3

AAAAAAAAAAAAAA I'm so happy with how this turned out! I've been experimenting with shading styles for DAYS until I found one that stuck. It's so weird, in high school I had this phase where I drew everything in halves so I wouldn't have to do symmetry, but this time I chose to do it for the style I had in mind

As for the character, I fell in love with her design the moment I saw her!!! I swear TGAA 2 has some of the BEST designs of the entire series

I think I've finally figured out what's "wrong" about my digital art

I haven't been liking how my digital art works for awhile now but I haven't been able to exactly pinpoint why that is, but now I think I've figured it out.

My traditional art style is vastly different from my digital art style. My traditional is more shaded and textured and semi-realistic whereas my digital art is flat and cartoony in comparison

(Yes, I am aware that these are two remarkably different characters lol)

I think the issue is that Medibang doesn't offer a lot in regards to blending brushes, and I cannot get the hang of the watercolor brushes, thus I am only able to use the airbrush, the smear/smudge and blur tools, soft eraser, and pen tools (for cell shading.)

I'm trying out Krita right now but,,,, God learning a new art program is so hard
