I cannot begin to explain to you the disappointment I felt on finding out that “match my freak” was a sexual thing and not a level of how insane you are with your friends

I forgot that the thing Ruan Mei spiked our cake with in "When the Stars of Ingenuity Shine" was literally called "Anti-Truth Serum".

The deliberate contrast between Ruan Mei and our "Dr. Truth" is even more on the nose than I remember.

Soft-spoken Ruan Mei literally fed us "Anti-Truth" in a sweet cake. And Dr. Ratio gave us the metaphorical bitter pill of truth in that scene many consider an interrogation.

And judging by what people think about these two characters, apparently, most seem to prefer the former.

my real guess is that humans are between 2-3 times larger than inklings/octolings. and even if you dont just peep background details which dont have much thought into it, it's not just that murch and spyke is larger, a lot of other species are

we also see tartar up close and person, who's MUCH taller than 8 and craig, and it's a telephone that a human would use, they would likely need to be able to reach it

2-3 times larger would also put them to about 60cm tall which is the size of a real life squid, though octopuses are usually larger

i think concept art is just concept art, throwing out random ideas and stuff that doesn't stick, or just saying the heights in a way that is easy to understand like, oh marina's a bit taller than most and pearl is short. even the drawing which is put right next to it doesnt match the heights at all (in game it doesnt match either)

even if you accept the heights and just say that this discrepancy is due to the art style, i think in-universe it's likely that they use a different definition of a metre, which doesnt make much sense, though if it was in feet i could give a whole argument about how a foot had many competing definitions throughout history and such.
