Even though love has always been unkind to me, it’s the only thing my heart knows how to write about. I feel drawn to its beauty, its pain, its endless longing. Perhaps it’s because I understand what it feels like to want something so deeply and yet never truly have it. Love may not favor me, but it still inspires every word I pen.
I am not taking a risk
Not risking it pals
U know what I want potato of luck
Damn right I’m reblogging. See previous post re wrath of whatever from high atop the thing.
i dont want a love like the movies. i want a love like they have in sitcoms. playfully roasting each other. every one teasing us when we're together. slowly becoming best friends. like Jake and Amy from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, or Jonah and Amy from Superstore, or Phil and Claire from Modern Family, or Ben and Leslie from Parks and Recreation. Movies say 'happily ever after' but sitcoms show you the after. I want a love like the sitcoms
I WANT YOU TO BE MINE. SELFISHLY, THOUGHTLESSLY, MINE

people who only use conventional social media are so funny bc they’ll casually be like “can I see your tumblr??” are you Insane. this is no instagram or twitter. this is my vault of secrets
"Oh can I see what stuff you see on Tumblr?"
I struggle to articulate the vicarious embarrassment and annoyance I feel whenever women coddle men in an effort to overcorrect for the notion that men are not allowed to be emotionally vulnerable.
I came across this video of a man filming his teary expression after his ex-girlfriend found him working at a drive-through and laughed at him. His account has an unusually high number of videos where he's filming himself crying; it's clearly disingenuous. And yet the women in the comments are offering him uncritical and disproportionately cloying comfort.
The root of my annoyance is the knowledge that, if a woman were to film herself crying over something so inconsequential, men would never offer her this kind of consolation. Instead they’d ridicule her, call her hysterical. They’d say she's an attention seeker by mere virtue of uploading a video of herself crying.
The notion that men are not allowed to be emotionally vulnerable has been so thoroughly weaponized against women, that women have overcompensated for this to the point that men’s emotional vulnerability is now elevated to a noble and deeply profound status. Ironically, this disproves the premise they are overcompensating for: men’s emotional vulnerability is not trivialized, it is taken way too seriously as a matter of fact.
