Y/N had endured Seungmin’s relentless teasing for months now. Every time she blushed, stumbled over her words, or even just existed in his general vicinity, he found a way to poke fun at her. It wasn’t mean—no, Seungmin had a special talent for teasing her in a way that made her feel both flustered and strangely warm inside. But today, she had decided it was time for payback.
They were in the practice room, just hanging out after a long meeting. The others were scattered around, chatting, scrolling through their phones, or lying dramatically on the floor, exhausted from the day’s work. Y/N sat cross-legged on the couch, absentmindedly playing with the hem of her oversized sweater.
Seungmin, as expected, was sitting across from her, watching her with his usual smirk. “You look like you’re plotting something,” he mused, tilting his head. “Are you finally going to admit that I’m your favorite?”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, her lips curving into a mischievous smile. “Seungmin, if I admit that, you’d never let me live it down.”
His grin widened. “True. But we both know it’s the truth.”
Instead of rolling her eyes like she usually would, Y/N decided to flip the script. She leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand as she gazed at him through her lashes. “You know…” she started, her voice a little softer than usual, “I actually think you’re kinda cute when you’re not being insufferable.”
Seungmin blinked. The cocky expression wavered for just a second. “Huh?”
She tilted her head. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, you are insufferable 90% of the time, but sometimes—just sometimes—you’re cute.” She let her fingers trace lazy circles on the couch beside her, feigning innocence.
The room suddenly felt warmer.
Seungmin scoffed, leaning back against the couch as if trying to put more distance between them. “Nice try, Y/N. I see what you’re doing.”
She bit back a laugh. “Doing what?”
His eyes narrowed. “You’re trying to turn the teasing on me.”
Y/N blinked, all wide-eyed innocence. “I’m just saying what I think.” She let a slow smile spread across her lips, then leaned in just a little closer. “Does it make you nervous, Seungmin?”
He swallowed, his usual sharp retorts failing him for once. His ears were turning red.
Y/N had never felt more powerful.
Felix, who had been watching the entire exchange from the other side of the room, suddenly cackled. “Oh my God, she broke him.”
That snapped Seungmin out of it. “Shut up,” he muttered, shaking his head like he was trying to physically rid himself of whatever spell Y/N had just cast on him. He turned back to her, pointing an accusing finger. “Don’t think this means you’ve won.”
Y/N only smiled, shrugging as she leaned back. “Whatever you say, cutie.”
Seungmin groaned. “Oh, you’re going to regret this.”
But Y/N just laughed, enjoying the rare sight of Kim Seungmin flustered beyond words. The tables had turned, and she was going to have so much fun with this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seungmin was not going to let Y/N win.
No way.
She had somehow managed to fluster him, Kim Seungmin, the king of teasing, and he had to regain control. The others wouldn’t let him live it down if he didn’t. Felix was still grinning at him whenever they made eye contact, Jeongin had called him "cutie" at least three times just to rub it in, and Changbin? Changbin had winked at him.
It was unacceptable.
So, Seungmin came up with a plan. He’d outflirt Y/N before she could get to him again.
The opportunity presented itself in the studio two days later. Most of the members were around, working on a project, but Y/N was sitting at the desk with her laptop, typing away. She looked focused, her long curls falling over one shoulder.
Seungmin smirked. Perfect.
He leaned against the desk, tilting his head just enough to look effortlessly charming. “You know, Y/N,” he mused, lowering his voice just slightly, “you’re kinda cute when you’re concentrating like that.”
She didn’t even blink. “I know.”
Seungmin faltered.
She knew?
Y/N finally looked up at him, the corner of her lips twitching in amusement. “What, were you expecting me to get flustered?”
He scowled. “No.”
She leaned forward slightly, resting her chin on her hand—his move. “Are you sure?”
Seungmin gritted his teeth. “Positive.”
She smiled. “So you wouldn’t mind if I said you look cute when you’re trying so hard to act cool?”
His breath hitched.
Oh no.
Y/N didn’t stop there. “I mean, it’s adorable, really,” she continued, propping her elbow on the table. “Watching you struggle like this? It’s kinda fun.”
Seungmin opened his mouth to say something—anything—but nothing came out.
Han, from across the room, whistled. “Damn, she’s too powerful.”
Seungmin groaned, covering his face with his hands as the room erupted into laughter.
just smiled, reaching for her cup of coffee as if she hadn’t just obliterated him.
He was never going to win at this game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seungmin was spiraling.
He had always been in control when it came to teasing Y/N. It was his thing—his favorite pastime. She was easy to fluster, easy to make stutter, easy to laugh at when she tried to fight back but ended up turning red instead.
But now?
Now he was the one struggling to form words whenever she got that amused little smile.
Now he was the one whose ears betrayed him every time she called him cute.
Now he was the one who had to deal with Felix and Jeongin whispering “Y/N owns you” at random times during the day.
It was unacceptable.
And yet, as he sat on the dorm couch, arms crossed, glaring at nothing in particular, he realized something even worse.
He didn’t hate it.
“Still mad?”
Seungmin snapped out of his thoughts to find Y/N standing in front of him, holding two cups of coffee. She was smirking. Of course, she was smirking. She had been smug ever since she successfully flipped the teasing back onto him.
“I’m not mad,” Seungmin muttered, taking the cup she offered him. “Just thinking.”
Y/N tilted her head, curling up next to him on the couch like it was the most natural thing in the world. “Thinking about how cute I said you were?”
Seungmin choked on his coffee.
Y/N laughed. Actually laughed.
Seungmin wiped his mouth aggressively. “Do you enjoy this?”
“Oh, very much.” She sipped her coffee. “I get why you tease me all the time now. It’s fun watching you squirm.”
Seungmin groaned, leaning his head back against the couch. “This is the worst.”
Y/N hummed, pretending to be deep in thought. “I could stop if you want.”
He scoffed. “You? Stop? Please.”
She grinned. “You’re right. It’s too much fun.” Then, as if to really drive the knife in, she reached up and ruffled his hair.
Seungmin sat up instantly, staring at her in shock. “Did you just—”
“Aw,” she cooed. “You look so soft like this.”
“Y/N.”
She burst out laughing, dodging when he tried to swat at her.
From the kitchen, Felix watched the scene unfold with a knowing smile. “Yeah,” he whispered to Hyunjin. “He’s so doomed.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seungmin was in hell.
Not literal hell, of course. No, that would’ve been easier to deal with. Instead, he was trapped in a far worse situation—one of his own making.
He had spent months teasing Y/N, enjoying every flustered reaction, every stuttered excuse, every little glare she threw his way when he called her adorable just to see her blush.
But now?
Now Y/N had discovered her power.
And she was merciless.
They were at the company’s lounge, waiting for a meeting with the other members. Y/N sat next to Seungmin on the couch, her legs tucked comfortably beneath her, scrolling on her phone. She looked so casual, so unbothered—completely opposite from Seungmin, who was sitting rigidly, trying to ignore the fact that she had just leaned closer under the pretense of showing him something on her screen.
"Hey, Seung," she murmured, her voice just a little too sweet.
Seungmin exhaled slowly, bracing himself. "What."
She turned to him fully, resting her chin on her hand. "You know, I realized something."
He glanced at her warily. "What?"
Her lips curved into that infuriating smile. "You're really cute when you're nervous."
Seungmin stiffened.
No. No, he refused to let her get to him again.
"I don't get nervous," he shot back quickly, but his voice came out slightly higher than usual.
Y/N’s grin widened.
"You sure?" she asked, leaning in just a little closer. "Because your ears are turning red again."
Seungmin clamped a hand over them immediately. "They are not—"
She laughed, her brown curls bouncing as she settled back. "They totally are."
Felix, who had been sitting across from them, watching with pure entertainment, snickered. "Seungmin, buddy, you are struggling right now."
Seungmin scowled at him, then turned back to Y/N. "Okay, enough," he grumbled. "You’ve had your fun."
Y/N just sipped her drink, looking way too smug. "Oh, Seungmin," she sighed dramatically. "This is so much better than I ever imagined."
Seungmin groaned, dragging a hand down his face.
He had really done this to himself.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seungmin was suffering.
No, actually, he was losing.
He could handle the teasing. He could handle the smirks, the too-sweet tone, the way Y/N leaned in a little too close just to watch him squirm. But what he couldn’t handle was how much fun she was having with it.
It had gotten so bad that even Chan—the ever-observant leader who usually stayed out of their antics—had started watching with an amused expression whenever Y/N worked her magic.
Lee know too, start to following their exchanges with a smile.
Seungmin needed to fix this.
But first, he needed to survive.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
They were at the dorms that evening, lounging around after practice. Felix, Jeongin, and Han were playing a video game, while Changbin and Hyunjin were arguing over what movie to watch. Seungmin, unfortunately, was stuck on the couch next to Y/N.
She had barely done anything, yet he already felt on edge.
Then, she stretched.
Her sweater slipped slightly off her shoulder, exposing a little more of her collarbone. And maybe—maybe—Seungmin’s eyes flickered there for a fraction of a second too long.
Unfortunately for him, Y/N noticed.
Her smirk was instant. “See something you like, Seungmin?”
Seungmin choked on absolutely nothing.
Felix cackled. Jeongin dropped his controller. Han practically fell off the couch.
“Oh my God, he’s so done,” Hyunjin wheezed.
Seungmin glared at them all, face burning. “I hate every single one of you.”
Y/N giggled. “That’s not very nice, Seung.” She leaned in a little closer. “I thought we were bonding.”
Seungmin clenched his jaw. She’s enjoying this way too much.
He needed a counterattack. He needed to flip the script back in his favor.
And he had the perfect plan.
He let out a long sigh, then turned to her with the most innocent expression he could muster. “You know, Y/N,” he mused, lowering his voice just enough to sound soft, almost affectionate.
She raised an eyebrow. “Hm?”
He tilted his head, eyes locked onto hers. “You’re really pretty.”
Silence.
The entire room froze.
Y/N’s eyes widened slightly, her breath catching just for a moment. Seungmin watched as her confident expression wavered—just a little, but enough for him to notice.
Then, her ears turned pink.
Seungmin grinned.
“Oh no,” Felix whispered dramatically. “Did he just—”
“He flipped it,” Jeongin gasped.
Seungmin leaned in just a little. “What’s wrong, Y/N?” he asked, his tone all teasing sweetness. “Didn’t expect that?”
Y/N opened her mouth—probably to retaliate—but nothing came out.
Seungmin leaned back, arms crossed, looking way too pleased with himself.
“That’s one point for me,” he announced smugly.
Y/N narrowed her eyes. “Oh, it’s on, Kim Seungmin.”
Seungmin smirked. “Bring it on, sweetheart.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seungmin had tasted victory.
For the first time in weeks, he had managed to turn the tables on Y/N. The moment she got flustered, the way her ears turned pink, the fact that she had been speechless—it was glorious.
But he wasn’t done.
No, he had a new strategy now. If Y/N wanted to keep playing this game, he was going to raise the stakes.
And that’s how the sweet name war began.
The first time he tried it, they were in the practice room with the others. Y/N had just finished going over schedules with Chan when Seungmin strolled over, casually leaning against the wall.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he drawled.
The reaction was immediate.
Y/N’s hand froze mid-note, and for a split second, Seungmin saw the way her shoulders stiffened. Then, she turned slowly, eyes narrowing. “What did you just call me?”
Seungmin grinned. “Sweetheart. Why? Don’t like it?”
Felix, sitting on the floor, gasped.
Jeongin choked on his water.
Hyunjin dramatically clutched his chest. “Oh, he’s evil for that.”
Y/N narrowed her eyes. “You’re pushing your luck, darling.”
Seungmin’s smirk twitched. Oh. She was fighting back?
Fine. He welcomed the challenge.
The next day, she hit back at breakfast.
Seungmin was pouring himself coffee when Y/N waltzed into the kitchen, hair still messy from sleep. She barely glanced at him before humming, “Morning, honey.”
He almost spilled his coffee.
“Oh?” she blinked innocently. “Something wrong?”
Seungmin cleared his throat, gripping his mug. “Not at all, princess.”
Y/N faltered—just slightly—but she recovered quickly, grabbing a slice of toast like nothing happened.
Felix walked in at that moment, took one look at them, and sighed. “I feel like I should start keeping score.”
By the end of the week, the entire group was invested.
At the dorm, Chan, Hyunjin, Lee Know and Han actually started betting on who would break first.
“Y/N is good, but Seungmin has no shame,” Chan pointed out.
“Yeah, but she learned from him,” Hyunjin argued. “And she’s petty.”
"He will loose for sure" say Lee Know.
Meanwhile, Seungmin and Y/N kept going.
At lunch:
“Pass the salt, love?”
“Of course, darling.”
At the company lounge:
“Move over, sweet pea.”
“No problem, baby.”
At game night:
“Good luck, angel.”
“You too, snugglebug.”
Seungmin choked. “WHAT?”
Y/N grinned. “Problem, puppy?”
Felix actually collapsed on the floor laughing.
Jeongin was in tears.
“Oh my God,” Han wheezed. “She won.”
Seungmin sat there, stunned.
Y/N just sipped her drink, looking smug. “What’s wrong, honey bun?”
Seungmin groaned, dropping his head onto the table.
He had created a monster.
And the war is far from over.
