Oughhh February has been a terrible month for progress in project new world, I’ve very much gotten absolutely nothing done
I know I don’t have to make awesome progress every week or anything, but it still sucks a bit. I’m gonna see if I can sit down this week and finish polishing the characters, surely I can do this
I've just finished watching the talk "How to craft an emotional journey for your readers" by Erin Swann and at the end we did an exercise writing a lil paragraph to put the lecture in practice.
I decided to write an alternative version to one of the key moments in the first book of Project New World for practice, so here it is!
CW for blood and that's about it.
I have been watching the writing tips that author Tomi Adeyemi has been posting on TikTok and they’re honestly really good
My favorite one has been the “choose a monthly goal instead of a yearly goal” one
I decided to make my January goal to outline all the chapters for book one of Project New World and it’s working swimmingly! I feel very motivated cause it’s a very achievable goal :))
Holidays are always hectic so I don’t usually get to write much, but I like this time of the year because it’s usually when I get everything ready for the new year
I’m almost done putting together my reading journal, and I got one too many planners for 2025, so I’m thinking of ways I can use it to aid my writing next year, since I want to write the first full draft of book one of project new world
I don’t know, I guess I like the anticipation that comes with preparing for a new year
Below are what used to be the first lines of Project New World. The story has changed a lot and these won’t be in anymore, so I thought I’d share them!
The ground shook with the echo of the bells that announced the arrival of Neurim, the Darkness. Ten strokes. In a couple of hours, Light would leave them without protection, at the mercy of the creatures of Darkness. Sumira was worried about something else however, In a few hours, her death sentence would be executed, and she would be sacrificed to beg Neurim for mercy. She didn’t want to die.
There we go, tag list below the cut!
I've sort of come up with a plan, though it's not perfect! But I'm hoping to have the first draft of project time done next year c:
I'm also thinking of going back to making video blogs! Though this is a bit more uncertain, 'cause they require so much time
I'm also working a bit on my tbr for next year, I like getting excited for what I'm gonna read
Hi I'm Ghost.
I've just started this blog to be a place to focus more on my original writing projects. I may also sometimes post art related to my projects.
If you post about writing, fiction analysis, book reviews, art, nature, monster / character design, or are otherwise just a cool person I would love to follow you. Please like/reblog or otherwise interact with this post so I can follow you.
Thank you!
ORI!!!!!!!!!
Hello my gorgeous, lovely, amazingly talented friend!!! 💚💚💚
I am SOOOOO glad to know you’re okay!!!! I have missed you so so much!!!!
I can’t wait to read more of your stories!!!
You can use this as a request to ramble about anything or just as a little serotonin boost (that I have hopefully provided) 😁😁😁
Love you and so glad you’re back 😘
Honey 🥺🥺🥺
I am genuinely so grateful for you. I don’t have the energy right now to ramble, but it has certainly given me a serotonin boost.
Im glad to be back.
So. Hmm. I've been away since... I think June? Things began going kind of wrong at my workplace (though, to be fair, they were wrong since before I even began working there) and I just... grew disillusioned with my life, I think.
I don't know. At that moment it felt easier to log off from this account and just pretend it didn't exist, though it remained at the back of my mind for a while.
Creative pursuits are hard, I think most people can relate. Other things get in the way and it can be hard to remember why you were doing anything in the first place.
Today I pulled a card from my oracle deck and it told me to "follow my dreams". My gut reaction was to say "what dreams? I don't have any" but, well, that's a lie! I have many dreams, and writing is one of them, so I remembered, and I'm back.
I don't know how I'm gonna go about this, but I'm choosing to try again. So hi, my name's Orion. Nice to meet you. It's good to be back.
Give me a ramble about anything and everything!! 🩷🩷
Soooo I know I'm super late to answering this ask and I also took a two week hiatus from posting my schedule. Tag games had built up (I had like 20 drafts at one point and I think I still missed a few), irl things got really busy, and I kind of hit a little low motivation train from just being so exhausted. BUT!! I'm finally caught up on everything, downed an energy drink to give me the energy, and I think I can get back to my regular posting schedule!
I'm using this to do my Monday world building/lore post, so you're about to get some rambles about one of my favorite species: DRAGONS!!!!!
I specifically want to talk about Tanimoriem, one of the subspecies of Dragons in my WIPs. Both WIPs involve the species pretty heavily and... I just like them so I'm going to burden you all with my unintelligible ramblings :D
As always, quick disclaimers. This is a long post, big surprise there. I can't find any CW, but if I missed something, let me know! With that out of the way, let's get into it!!
