Post-Fall Falls False Starts

@pfffsfic / pfffsfic.tumblr.com

Hi there! This blog is home to two TaWoG/Gravity Falls crossover works and their equally nonsensical creator, who swears they're better than they sound: Post-Fall Falls False Starts: A story centered on Sarah and Rob, set largely in Gravity Falls after the destruction of Elmore. The blog's flagship fic. Read it on AO3 by clicking HERE or on Tumblr from the start by clicking HERE- tumblr not yet caught up to the full story. To see see everything PFFFS-related in chronological order, including non-chapter content, click HERE. ImpROBaBILL Improvements: A comic (and side story that's not part of the main PFFFS continuity) about Rob in the Theraprism, his efforts to game the system... and his quest to make friends with one particularly unfriendly triangular inmate. Read it from the start by clicking HERE, or see everything related to it in chronological order by clicking HERE. You can also see everything I've ever posted in chronological order with the tag postfALLOFIT. You don't need to ask permission to use any AU, concept, or idea I bring up on this blog for anything you want with any degree of modification. i didn't make up the characters and stake no ownership on anything I come up with here. don't worry about stealing my ideas. Asks are open! Ask me anything! Ask the characters anything! Or don't.

I've decided to make a masterpost with all the pages of ImpROBaBILL Improvements in finished form (that will be edited to add more as they come out). Here it is- all 14 pages so far!

(I'm also gonna have this pinned on the blog since it's my Most Popular Thingโ„ข.) Part 1 post | Part 2 post | Part 3 post | Part 4 post

thought to myself "isn't it weird that Bill is a square pyramid instead of a triangular pyramid when him being a triangle is so significant?" then remembered the egyptian pyramids exist and he's based on them

A crappy headcanon that doesn't make much sense (and is partially disproven by a thing on the BoB website) but is very funny:

bill goes first in chess despite playing as black, and he has all of his pieces squeezed together on the same row for some reason (at least in this shot- it's probably an animation error since they're placed normally when the scene switches angles). all this can be chalked up to the crew not being chess experts, especially since Ford puts his queen out in front right after even though it's not supposed to be able to jump over pieces, but isn't it a lot funnier if Bill doesn't know how to play chess and is improvising? "An illegal move? Nah, not in interdimensional chess, a super-popular variant in the Nightmare Realm and definitely not something I made up just now! What, you mean you want me to play with Earth Chess rules? Too simple- don't you know it's practically a solved game already, Sixer?"

a ton of people make jokes about how Ford wouldn't know 9/11 happened, but really he was visiting parallel worlds for a good portion of his multiverse travels, so he might have encountered parallel 9/11s and extrapolated that something like it probably happened back home too. really I think the show-accurate joke would be to have him mention the White House was destroyed on 9/11 or something and have the others go "huh??" in this essay, I

i'm alive. things are coming along. big real life responsibilities too and such. sorry for going inactive

There's an idea I've had for a long time but never seen mentioned by anyone else- that there are quite a few elements in GF that seem to "foreshadow" Ford having an eyepatch (or more accurately, elements that would have been pointed to as bits of foreshadowing if he ended up having one, which, of course, he didn't.)

Ford is the only character in the main cast who lacks a piece of unique headgear in his final design, so from that perspective you could say something's missing. There's a monocle attached to Journal 3. One of the pages talks about one of Ford's eyes bleeding everywhere from Bill's influence. Stan wears an eyepatch for no reason while pretending to be Ford. (There's also the joke about Stan's eye getting poked through his glasses, which is a big stretch, but whatever). The uhhh Society of the Blind Eye, that could be something.

There's no real theory attached to this, because what conclusion can I draw from "these unrelated plot points seem to collectively hint at another plot point that doesn't exist"? There's no concept art evidence for this ever having been the plan (that I know of), but I needed to talk about it, so there you go, I suppose.

sure, you're a big fan of him and look at posts about him on tumblr, but when was the last time you really thought about the fact that he's called bill because's he's an anthro version of the thing on the dollar bill

re: these notes, it's giddy 'n gleeful. funnily enough the name "gideon" was picked prior to this idea, since his surname in the pitch bible was Garrymore!

my hottest gravity falls fanon take is that a sasquatch/bigfoot is the ideal monster for Dipper to become in a monster AU:

  • The archetypal cryptid
  • doesn't really appear in the show as-is, outside of the intro
  • Brown fur
  • tall, smelly, hairy = IT'S A PUBERTY METAPHOR
  • two ways to play the intersection of his desired manliness+the traits of his new form: one, he could be like a short/Dipper-sized one with a conspicuous lack of chest hair or something (and be very unhappy about it?) or it could be an ironic thing where he finally gets to be taller and hairier but at the same time he is a monster, which overshadows any positives he might see in it
  • there could be a gag where he doesn't show up properly on camera?
  • i might be the only one who sees the vision tbh

thinking of drawing this idea. it's been stewing around for far too long in my head but the problem is I have no practice in the GF art style

It's part 4 of my surprisingly-popular Theraprism Rob+Bill crossover comic, ImpROBaBILL Improvements! This one was experimental with its format, and future parts won't have as many... paragraphs. I hope you like it! Up next: chapter 5: Needlefelting (working title).

Read the whole thing in the masterpost or navigate to:

edit: crap, I forgot to add his scar here! I'll need to fix that before the release, sorry.

edit 2: It's out! Part 4 is officially finished! It'll be out in a short while. As has been custom for the last two parts, here's a preview: this chapter's full-color panel! (So this preview post can serve its purpose I'll be putting an intentional gap between it and the actual release).

Part 4 will be added to the masterpost when it comes out., as well as released in its own dedicated post.
