It seems my brain finally got the memo that in order for me me to get Good at something, I need to do it A LOT 😂 So here's weaving project #2 for the day.

I don't expect it to actually look great when it's done, the point is to start building that muscle memory, get a feel on tension that works for me etc 😁

I got myself to do some rigid heddle band weaving for the first time in ages, and this is what I got done in about 3 hours 🥰

Aaaaand done! 64cm of woven band in one day 🥰

Some day I will learn how to do neater beginnings and ends, but that day wasn't today. Maybe tomorrow 😂

First attempt of "veiled mushroom" for my moss forest blanket. Obviously doesn't really look like any of the real ones I know of, but that's not the point. The point is, that I like how it looks and feels and it was fun to crochet 😁

I'm trying out crocheting a sweater again. Last time I did, in January, I unraveled everything, because I couldn't figure out how to make the neckline and shoulders lay the way I wanted. This time it looks like it's working out better.

Suuuper quick little thing I did for a housewarming party today :D

This was actually fun enough to do that I may need to get or make more little planter pots so that if need arises, I can make little crochet plants for gifts.

I decided to learn freeform crochet :D

If this piece works out and I manage to keep up the interest long enough to make it large, I will make it a moss blanket!

I have forgotten to update anything for a couple months despite having done a lot, but let's start with this one :D

The moss blanket has been one of those projects I have picked up every now and then, and it shows because this is how it looks now:

I kinda messed up by increasing way too much and it's warping now because of it, but I absolutely refuse to frog that this to fix it xD The plan is to not do much increases, do some random decreases and also gather some of it by doing some additions like the "lichens" and "roots" and "plants" and such. It will be lumpy af, but that was kinda the idea to begin with 🤷

I FINALLY found the neckwarmer I lost sometime last year. This was the first version of The Cowl I made, and I had to start it from the beginning because I lost it. It was at the cottage under my parents' bed 😂

The good thing is, it's actually perfectly functional neckwarmer as it is, so after weaving in the ends I can just store it with other cold weather gear to wait for the next winter ❄️

The first add-on to my granny square backpack is nearly finished!

The plan is that it could be affixed to either to the top or bottom of the pack by shoulder straps, but I haven't figured out HOW I do that yet, so brainstorming continues 😂

I was thinking of lining it with some dark colored muslin or similar fabric, so on an overnight trip I can flip the bag inside out, and use it as a pillow :D

I think I forgot to update on the backpack project, so here it is!

It's technically not finished yet, because I do plan on adding things still, and fixing some other stuff (for example, I'm not happy with the pockets and barely use them as they are), but it's in a stage where it's currently my main bag.

In time, I hope it can serve as a hiking backpack, and I think as it is right now it could work for a short overnight trip, but I plan on crocheting some add-ons I can add and remove easily.

And chest strap. I need a chest strap, but I haven't figured out what sort of buckle I will use. Just for aesthetic reasons I absolutely refuse to use plastic buckles, but side release buckle would be the most convenient and the safest too, but I'd need to order online and probably abroad, because I have hard time finding metal side release buckles in Finland. Especially ones that would fit the overall aesthetic (i.e. not silvery shiny. It needs to have some patina, new or fake). But I'm keeping an eye on the local army surplus store, because sometimes they get nice quality stuff like that, and it's often second hand too. And I do have a belt buckle I can use if nothing else comes up before I need the bag for a hike.

I made a new wrist loop thing for my cane!

I've been obsessed with making yarn plants recently, in general as an old low-key obsession, but also as an preparation for the craft fair in two weeks. AND! I learned how to embroider moss :D

I'm on my shit again!

I got the taste of granny square things so now I'm aiming for bit bigger than a small shoulder bag... 👀
