That macro-esque art piece reminds me a lot of the ableism superfat people face if they have either physical, neurodevelopmental, or psychiatric disorders that manifest in "stereotypically fat" ways and also like...my internalized fatphobia and ableism surrounding my childhood trauma induced BED like...when you have BED there is CONSTANTLY this sense on days where you even feel tempted to binge that everyone just. Sees you and is watching and judging you for how big you are and how much you eat and what you're eating and your entire existence and it really gets me in the BED/autism/adhd/also fat on purpose partially feels
Hell yeah! I really wanted to represent that uncomfortable type of hypervisibility that fat people experience for their fatness, i’m glad some people feel seen by the art i made.
It’s so shiny!
Commission for @kageki-kokoro, thank you so much!
as an artist and someone who's into wg/feedism but not maco-
the macro art makes me immediately think of how it feels when you're exposed. So large that all eyes Have to be on you because there's no where else for them to be. Vulnerable. The contrast of what you'd expect (power, confidence) vs what's actually there (anxiety, embarrassment)
Oh that's entirely part of it! for me i'm just thinking about how often fat people get put on display against their will, how often fat people are made into a spectacle of disgust and revulsion. feeling every critical eye aimed at your body. I kinda feel like the macro art scratches that itch, and i really feel like it wouldn't if it wasn't somewhat embarrassing for some people to look at.
