About me

Hi, I’m Rose! I’m 20 years old, a writer, and I just post random things that interest me.

Currently reading: Never Let Me Go

Trying to write my WIP book.

Title: Earnest Angel

Some things I love: Reading, walks, autumn, writing, history, learning, gothic lit, Hozier, video games, coffee, and the 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie.

Some things I hate: Waking up early, math, TERFs, cliffhangers, and Riverdale.

I do not tolerate any form of bigotry or bullying.

My musings and rants are under #my posts

telling myself that the new tumblr update is an april fools joke to cope with how ugly it is

generally you shouldn't write run-on sentences because they get confusing and it doesn't give the reader a break. that doesn't apply to me though my run-on sentences are fun and understandable and they have a rhythm to it that makes you want to keep reading

When everything is embarrassing, that’s a sign that your passion is waking up, and it wants more. Your desire is a tender sprout that wants more water, more sunshine. It wants you to give up on SEEMING happy and in control and to start FEELING joy instead, even when it feels a little too big, even when it makes you cry, even when it forces you to question where you are and why.

Passion and desire and shame and sadness don’t signal that you have to change everything immediately, though. These are sensations that don’t require solutions. Your primary job, in the face of renewed lust for life, is to tolerate the shame of joy.

Because embarrassment is sometimes just a sign that you’ve never lived out in the open before, you’ve never cared more about a feeling than you care about how you’re coming across, you’ve never prioritized happiness over control.

This is why it’s good to take risks that might embarrass you regularly. Because every time you dare to embarrass yourself for the sake of who you are, you’re teaching your body to prioritize joy. You’re teaching yourself to let go of seeming better than the things you love. You’re showing yourself how to feel where you are — to soak in the cool fall air, to breathe in the moon, to love every lopsided moment of your glorious, flawed life.

not to sound like a christian facebook mom but some of yall need to have grace in your hearts for the people in your lives or the people you pass once on the road and never see again like you literally need to stop assuming the worst of everyone and their intentions it is poisoning your brain. you can be careful and responsible without being a miserable person. it is possible i promise

I am Ahmed from Gaza.

At first, I was sharing my campaign link to get the price of my destroyed house and resettle, but this is frankly difficult. So, I am now posting to collect the rent, which is only $400 a month. But in light of these conditions and after the crossing has been closed for more than 10 days, not a cup of water has entered Gaza. Therefore, I decided to publish another post to collect some money to buy some basic necessities, which have become very expensive due to the closure of the crossings. I ask you to help with the price of a cup of coffee, $10, which is enough to feed a family from Gaza.

hate it when you experience something of better quality and then you’re doomed to no longer be satisfied

in my family we call this “getting the good bologna” because after my grandma got fancy bologna on sale she couldn’t go back
