Elisabeth, 26, gay, UK. She/they. I like having lots of thoughts and sometimes I even put them into posts.

fries. envelopes. ive been awake for 18 hours can i go to bed now.

you know i think the fact that friends and enemies autocorrected to this and i didn't notice is reason enough i should sleep

Honestly just imagined that an 18 hour shift at the mailing-fries-in-envelopes factory must have been grueling.

Okay this comment I just came across deserves its own post. Imagine showing this to someone who's never used Tumblr and explaining why haikus are relevant in this context.

One of my favourite questions for figuring out a character’s motivations is which qualities they most fear being assigned to them. Are they afraid (consciously or unconsciously) of being seen as stupid? Ungrateful? Weak? Incompetent? Lazy? Cowardly? Intimidating? Like they actually care? etc.

It’s such a fun way to explore into who they are, why they do what they do, what they don’t do out of fear, and how they might be affected by the events of the story. And I love when characters have negative motivations—trying to avoid something (in this case, being seen a particular way) as much as they’re trying to achieve a goal.

Anonymous asked:

would you read a fanfiction au set at your job? i.e if you're a barista would you read a coffeshop au for any media, hospital au if you're a doctor (?? i guess??? you get the point)

yes and i've actively sought it out

i wouldn't mind it but i'm not seeking it out specifically

no my job is boring and/or wouldn't work as a setting

no i hate my job and don't want to think about it in my spare time

it's nuanced

- It’s not the sea, because that’s blue. I should perhaps explain that Captain Crieff and I have a sportsman-like little bet on today about who can fly the best after drinking a litre of Vodka through a straw

If you're in the UK and you're worried about benefit cuts, I know how you feel. I'm anxious, upset, and desperately angry. I'm sure a lot of you are too.

Scope, a UK based disability charity, outline the cuts and explain them here. This is kept up to date as things are discussed and changed by the government. They have a petition here.

Scope also offer advice and support for disabled people, and have a helpline for this. More information here.

Sense, another UK based disability charity, have a template to email your local MP. This is available here, and can be customised to add your personal story and why you're worried about the cuts. They email it on your behalf, so you don't need to worry about finding their email address and emailing it yourself, you just fill in the form! If you can, please share this with friends and family! The more people email their MPs, the more impact it will have. Support from Sense is available on their website.

I am embedding all links below for accessibility.

I will continue to update this as and when any more information or support comes to my attention. I'm sorry that we are having to fight this. I hope that we are successful. ❤️

Cutting PIP and Universal Credit is not a "brave" or "tough" decision.

A brave and tough decision would be making the richest and most powerful in this country pay their fair share.

Taking away from the most vulnerable in society is cowardly. Simple as that.
