Happy February! Hope everyone had a lovely January! Here is this month’s update…

Done…:

  • KKPP-DE Skeleton draft is worked on…!
  • KKPP-DE is being worked on; Right now, Chihiro’s route is at 38 pages.

To do…:

  • Continue and hopefully finish the main events of Chihiro’s routes
  • Start another character’s route…?

Happy New year! I hope the year will be kind to everyone~! Last month I was pretty busy, but I feel I got an okay amount of work done! :39 A lot of writing and planning…!

Done…:

  • Fixed/messed around with the preference menu! This includes new sliders for the menu! Also, changed how the quick menu displays, specifically the order of options. Changed the text size on the sub-menus as well.
  • Finished the outfit designs for all the main characters! [Chihiro, Kaede, Ayako, Naoto– in addition to the outfits of Michi and Momoka who were finished before]
  • Worked a lot on KKPP-DE! I have about ~70% of that planned out…!

To do…:

  • Continue with KKPP-DE Skeleton 1
  • Start KKPP-DE Draft 1?

Happy December! The end of the year crept up on me fast… I can’t believe this project already has taken half a year… But instead of focusing on time, let me focus on the update!

Done…:

  • Skeleton Draft 3 is done!
  • Gathered up a needed resource list for the moment.
  • Outfits done: Momoka, Michi; Started on Chihiro, Kaede, Ayako and Naoto.
  • Concept sketched gallery and bonus content
  • Started outlining KKPP Deluxe Edition
  • Planned some bonus content…?

To do…:

  • Continue with the outfit sketching
  • Add in sliders for BGM volume perhaps…? / Work on control page
  • Draft 3 start…?
  • Continue with KKPP-DE

Hello!! Happy November!! Not a lot got done this past month due to OC-Tober occupying most of my time…! (For those curious on all the art for it, click here! :3) I expected it, but that means there’s also not a whole lot to report on.

Done…:

  • Skeleton Draft 3 is ~90% done…! 
  • Started some outfit sketches

To do…:

  • Finish skeleton draft 3– This includes finishing writing up summaries of 2 endings and going back and adding in some details.
  • Continue with the outfit sketching
  • Have a list of needed materials; This has to do with going back to the skeleton draft and making notes of what is needed
  • Plan bonus content for after finishing certain routes…?
  • Figure out look of bonus pages
  • Add in sliders for BGM volume perhaps…? / Work on control page
  • Draft 3 start

Hello! Happy October! Here is the quick overview of the progress this month...:

  • Changed the border on the load/save pages for the thumbnails. Cleaned up the look of the save slots
  • Removed Quick Save page; I think I’ll keep autosave on though. 
  • Added in a gallery feature; It’s incredibly rudimentary right now, but it’s at least on the main screen.
  • Got rid of about page on main menu, as it’s not needed
  • Changed the name of “help” to “controls” for clarity
  • Changed the start menu from textbuttons to imagebuttons, alongside adding a hover/idle feature to compliment. 
  • Changed the sidebar menu to be imagebuttons instead of text buttons
  • Changed the color of idle text in load screen and made it bigger
  • Finished draft 2
  • Started skeleton draft 3

The goals for this month...:

  • Change slider look
  • Outfit Mockups maybe...?
  • Skeleton Draft 3
  • Possibly start Official Draft 3

Finished: 

  • Rough Draft 2 is 82 pages in– roughly 68% done!
  • Working on very basic character asset testing
  • The buttons and general look of the main in-game screen seem set into place, but there’s still more work to come with the further stylization. This includes buttons to the save/load/ect screens as well as choice buttons. Working on finishing the overall overlay.
  • Added in custom font for the game
  • Changed scaling to nearest neighbor
  • Worked a bit on the home menu; It’s not fully done, but the basic concept is sketched out

To do…:

  • Rough draft 2, possibly get into Skeleton draft 3
  • Work on mockups of outfits for each asset I need
  • … Work on music?
  • Work on the look of the load menu
  • Work on adding in a CG Gallery function
  • Work on planning bonus content

hiii i'm playing 18782 and on day 7 the screen is just black? time still passes but i'm stuck on a blank screen :0 do you know if there's a fix for it? i tried reloading my save but nothing seems to work

hihi!! I'll definitely check it out because that is not supposed to happen (I think a similar issue happened in either pt or v1.0; where the quick solution was finding your way to the computer) ;

if you have any info on if it was triggered by going to sleep by going to the bed or the forced go to sleep mechanic too, let me know If possible!!! ☆

Okay I /think/ I fixed the issue-- in testing, it worked fine regardless of the method of sleeping, but I could be missing something. The game has been updated to v1.02! Again tysm for letting me know <3

Kissy Kissy Purr Purr: Update 002 - July 2024

Hello! Happy August! Like I said at the end of last update, this month doesn't have anything big to announce. I was very busy with ArtFight and other things this month, so my time to work on the game was lesser.  The updates and plans this month are as follows:

Finished: 

  • Rough Draft 2 is 38 pages in!
  • Started a spreadsheet of assets I need to better keep track of what has been done
  • Quick layout guide to help me when I program the game

To do…:

  • Rough draft 2, possibly get into Skeleton draft 3
  • Refine the look of the game, namely custom menus
  • Work on the music?
  • Add more to the asset spreadsheet
  • Maybe start making assets, or at least mocking them up?
  • A character profile or two?

Kissy Kissy Purr Purr: Update 002 - July 2024

Hello~! June has been a good month for development~! 

For a quick overview:

Finished: 

  • Skeleton drafts 1, 2, 2.5
  • Rough draft 1
  • Some basic testing for the look of the game: Buttons, choice menu, title screen.
  • Some music tests

To do…:

  • Rough draft 2, possibly get into Skeleton draft 3
  • Refine the look of the game, namely custom menus
  • Work on the music?

Hello! First announcement of a new project…!

It’s a visual novel with GL elements called Kissy Kissy Purr Purr!

Plot: Kissy Kissy Purr Purr is a visual novel series originally released on the PC98. However, how would you react if you woke up and found yourself in a lab...? That's the question now facing you, the childhood friend-to-lover romance option, Chihiro!

The visual novel is set to be shorter in expected playtime than 18782 (in terms of achieving every ending), and currently has 5 endings planned.

Bug Fix -> Version 1.01

There is a new version out fixing some semi-game breaking bugs that were not caught! You can still download it from the main itch.io page by downloading the ZIP file. Bug fixes are as follows:

  1. Fixed lettering in Magazine 32 (Taiban)
  2. Fixed issue from Day 4 onward that made player stuck if they did not pick up the cardboard cutout
  3. Fixed issue where the TV displayed the magazines
  4. Fixed issue where you get cornered and unable to move Day 3 in the streets.
  5. Added in special NPC on NewGame+ Mode
  6. Fixed issue where the days skipped if you passed out instead of went to bed

Hello! Happy February! Hope everyone has had a good start to the year! Unlike previous dev posts, this'll be a bit disorganized, because last month I was a bit disorganized.

Last month feels like a blur, but there was a lot of work done! Initial playtests have been conducted, and the artbook is being worked on. In short, the game is still full-steam ahead! However, the publish date has been pushed back. 

A major factor was I was unhappy with a certain part [forums] in-game. While they're not bad, I think they could be better and it'd annoy me to release the game where I still have that gripe. Along with that, the coding for that area is very messy, which causes a lag in the game. I think I can fix it, and so I'll be doing so. However, I'm going to totally re-do that section, text and all! It'll take a little bit (~35 topics, I've finished 1 rewrite, started another and I've hit 29 pages as of writing this... It's a lot of text!). Since that portion of the game has a lot of backstory of the world building, I do think it is important to make it the best it can be.

Alongside that, I do want to fix a few small errors with NPCs exiting at the right time, and also fixing the mail room coding so it runs smoother. Aside from that, I do have to finish the art book, but most of it is ready.  The last thing is just continued play testing and catching small bugs and spelling errors as they arise. I think currently I have all the game-breaking ones under control, which is a big stress knocked off.

So! While the game might be later than expected, hopefully end of THIS month, it'll be better than it was going to be. I'm happy with these changes and I've already worked years on this, what's another month or so?
