My Journey Into the Universe

@smartamaster / smartamaster.tumblr.com

This is where anything that pops into my mind might show up.

I tried and therefore no one can judge me, okay.

So for some reason I managed to hit 500 followers and, for that, I wanna thank you all. You’re wonderful and I love you all <3

But now to the thing you’re probably interested in, I felt let’s do a thing, what kind of thing, a giveaway… thing.

I have barely any idea how this works, okay, don’t judge me.

Let’s go for some basic rules then:

  1. You need to be following me, that’s just obvious. And the whole ‘Follow for the Giveaway thing and then unfollow’ is not cool so yeah, try to avoid that. I will check if you’re following me, so don’t try to dupe me. I am watching (OoooOOoo)
  2. I’m going to let you reblog or like (how generous) but I’m going to only count a name once (somewhat less generous). The simple reason is that a) It makes it easier for me and b) You don’t need to clutter your dash, ain’t no body got time for that.
  3. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts- Wait, no, that’s not this.

I think that’s it ruleswise.

So, let’s do this. Now, my abilities - with anything - are limited so… Yeah. These prizes might seem repeated but I did what I can ;_;

The prizes will be; Third Place: I’ll promo you on the blog for a week. Small but hey, it might do some good, who knows?

Second place: I will promo you for two weeks and I will do a five hundred word drabble on something of your choice: A pairing, a scenario, whatever. If I don’t know the thing, I may talk to you for some basic information.

First place: I will promo you on the blog for one month, I will do a one thousand word drabble and I will do a voice post of something of your choice. This could be reading the drabble, something else entirely, singing (oh God no), whatever.

Winners will be determined by ritualistic sacrifices and excessive orgies (And by that I mean I’ll throw the names onto a Word Document and use a random number generator)

So…

Yes.

Thank you all again for following me, I love you all to bits <3

Much love, Dan, Dan, Seventeen, Thor, Master, Jack, Lily, Javert, Dean, Chekov, E and Unity

“I thought you said there was no way to contact her…?” the Artist exclaimed, letting his anger fade. It was unfair of him to expect so much. He let out a soft breath, instead focusing on Tanj’s more pressing question.

“If there is a way to get in touch with her, I’d certainly be interested.”

“I never said there was no way to contact her, I just said that I didn’t know where she went. She left me a number that I could call if I either needed help or there was something she should know. I’ll call, but I can’t guarantee she’ll come.” Tanj got out his phone and selected a contact he hadn’t used before, paused, and said, “Is there anything specific you’d like me to say?”

He hesitated. Was there anything left to say? So many questions to which he knew she wouldn’t have the answers…

“Not particularly. Though I’d appreciate it if you refrained from telling her my name.”

His reputation was thinly spread across the universe to avoid detection, but he had no clue who had or hadn’t heard of his exploits. If she frequented Earth around this time, it was bound to come up somewhere, as he had little to no interest in hiding his hobby.

"Okay." He said, a little confused. He hit send and the number went directly to a voicemail that simply said "Speak" and after the beep, Tanj said, "Cor, I found something you might want to see. Actually, it's a someone. It's another Time Lord. Hopefully the system will give you the coordinates you need so you can find your way here. Looking forward to seeing you! Bye." He shut his phone and put it in his pocket. "Now we wait."

The man nearly ran out of the office. Tanj logged out, sending a message to the others that he was leaving, and followed.

“Good lad,” he remarked, thumping Tanj on the shoulder as he rejoined him in the hall. “Luckily I parked her close, figuring I might need ta jump out on short notice.”

He turned into an empty office four doors down, ushering the man inside before closing the door and a faint whirr sounded as he turned, tucking something in his pocket.

The room was unfurnished, but the big blue box stood there, completely out of place. The Doctor strode up to his TARDIS and fished the key from his pocket, and unlocking the door, stepped aside to usher Tanj in. “Jus’ don’t touch a thing, understand?” he warned him with a frown. He wasn’t sure just how the man would trigger the events of the day yet, and he wasn’t in any particular hurry to find out.

Tanj walked into the box and his mouth dropped open. Tingles of excitement brought forth a shiver. He shoved his hands solidly in his pockets, to discourage touching, and just started circling, looking closely at everything.

“I know it can’t hold a candle to yours, but I’ve had loss. I’ve lost 3 family members to various causes, so I know pain. But, just the thought of everybody dying makes my head spin.” He shook his head, “Anyway, would you like to contact her?”

Can we just take a moment to think about how Clara really gives no fucks about anything?

Cybermen surrounding you?

Don’t give a fuck.

On a submarine with a guy from Mars?

Am I supposed to give a fuck?

Shit in the wifi?

Eh. Where the fuck is my tea?

Alien wanting to burn the Doctor’s memories?

Fuck you and take this leaf.

This has been a post about Clara ‘No Fucks Given, TARDIS Sassmaster, and All around BAMF’ Oswald.

Just look at this adorable BAMF.

He shook his head, closing his eyes for a few brief moments and rubbing his temples as a headache began to pound painfully. “Not anymore. There was a war. Long story short, no more Gallifrey, no more Gallifreyans.”

The Artist let out a pent up breath. It was surprising he had learned so much from this Corsair, and yet she failed to mention that one fact.

“Oh, uh, well, that explains why the Corsair dodged the questions we had about Gallifrey. I guess that saying about not being able to go home again is more true for some than others. I’m sorry for your loss.”

His eyes narrowed. I’m sorry for your loss? How could a mere human even begin to comprehend what he had been to? His entire planet had been destroyed, and he could only say ‘I’m sorry for your loss?’

He let out a pent up breath, looking away. There wasn’t much else humans could say, in that situation…

“It’s been about a century since I found out. There’s nothing that can be done about it.”

"I know it can't hold a candle to yours, but I've had loss. I've lost 3 family members to various causes, so I know pain. But, just the thought of everybody dying makes my head spin." He shook his head, "Anyway, would you like to contact her?"

“I-It’s T-Tanj.” The cleared-up recording had him freaked out, was he going to blow up a planet? “W-Whats going on, sir?”

Avatar

“Not sure as of yet,” the Doctor said, looking Tanj over cautiously. Just how he would play into events was unclear, but to the look of him there was nothing out of the ordinary. Still, crises had both started and ended on ordinary before.

“Come on, time ta find out.” Obviously Tanj was going to be on the TARDIS at some point. Perhaps a jump start would keep this recording from happening.

The man nearly ran out of the office. Tanj logged out, sending a message to the others that he was leaving, and followed.

“Ah, yes, I’ve been anticipating this meeting, Mr. Darkforest.”

“Uh, I don’t know If I can say the same. I mean, I get an email that has nothing but an address in it, sent from an untraceable account, and at the address, I meet someone with guns on the wall who won’t show his face. I hope you see where my reluctance comes from.”

“Ah, yes, well this office setup was an idea from my colleague, Jill. It was her digging that brought you to my attention. Several months ago, you posted a rather open and scathing overview about a company called Abstergo. It has come to my attention that Abstergo is in possession of an…item I am interested in. Your review contained information that far exceeded the public access, and if you could turn over the data you’ve obtained, I would be willing to pay a handsome amount for it.”

Tanj took it all in before saying, “Jill must be quite the hacker, because I took a lot of precautions to make that post anonymous. However, for a healthy sum of money and a promise from Jill to keep it to herself, I might be wiling to give the techniques I used to access their data.”

“She is quite skilled.” D tilted his head and thought about it until a message popped up reading, *Do it, I give my word.* He smiled and named a price. “Jill also gives her word.”

Tanj recognized the wistful tone when the man spoke of his colleague and wondered if she knew about his feelings. When he named his price, Tanj’s eyes widened and he immediately agreed, pulling out a small e-book to remote access his files. He then asked, “Do you have a flash drive or something? This stuff takes up a lot of space.”

“Ah, yes, bring it over here, on the desk.” He pulls a little black box with a USB cable out of a drawer and places it on the desk. “You should be able to use this like a flash drive, but it will send everything to Jill.”

Tanj followed the instructions and started the transfer. As the ones and zeros flew, they discussed methods of payment and exchanged the appropriate information. A beep alerted them both to the completed transfer. Tanj packed up his computer, he shook the man's hand and went on his way.

This is the oldest piece of music known to humankind. It’s engraved in cuneiform on a tablet from 1400 BC. And it was a hymn to their goddess Nikkal.

He cursed inwardly, but knew it had been too much to hope for, anyway.

“Her TARDIS, hm…?” Briefly, he felt a pang of longing, the past resurfacing briefly only to bite him with painful memories, threatening to drag him under.

“In all technicality, Time Lord is a rank, Gallifreyan is the species,” the Artist commented absently, still wrapped up in his own thoughts. Her name didn’t seem to have any correlation with her nature, from what he was hearing as her description, but it didn’t matter much. There was no way to contact her.

“So there are others out there, others who survived,” he murmured quietly to himself, hardly daring to hope. He knew that it was possible, but had never managed to get any proof that others besides himself and the famous Doctor had escaped the effects of the Time War. The Doctor appeared throughout history, if you knew where to look, but no other beings were mentioned.

“Well, Time Lord or Gallifreyan, she’s still not human. Why would it be surprising that she survived? I imagine there’s a planet out there, probably called Gallifrey, that’s positively crawling with Gallifreyans.”

Seeing the credentials, Tanj’s eyes bulged and he stammered, “Y-y-yes sir, here you go.” He busied himself with pulling up the records. After a moment, it was ready. He offered the man his chair so he can control the playback himself.

The Doctor waits until the man is looking at his keyboard before taking a peek at what the paper had shown him. Ah. no wonder he’d stammered. ‘Special Instructor Smith’ was on a case. Fantastic.

He rose to switch seats, and clicked the button to start the playback. A deep chiming and staticy yelling was heard, and now it was the Doctor’s eyes that bulged. That was a cloister bell ringing. And the yelling…that was not him. Had this recording been sent back through time?

Tanj watched Mr. Smith as he listened to the calls. When his eyes bulged, Tanj asked, “Do you know what that is? I say that it’s highly distorted English, but the other noise makes it hard to tell.”

Avatar

“That it is,” he murmured distractedly, fishing his sonic from his pocket beneath the desk. He clicked the mouse, setting the recording at half pace, while he turned on the sonic, clearing away some of the noise in the recording with it.

This time, the words were much clearer. ‘TANJ! Pull the lever, We’ve got to….(garbled words)…Planet…Explodes…’

Slowly, the Doctor’s confused and shocked eyes shifted up to the man standing beside him. “What did you say your name was again?”

"I-It's T-Tanj." The cleared-up recording had him freaked out, was he going to blow up a planet? "W-Whats going on, sir?"
