Your Orpheus/Eurydice posts are just never gonna hit for me I'm sorry. Yes I know the themes yes I understand the metaphors and all that shit. Doesn't change the fact that if I was Eurydice I'd be fucking pissed. "He looked back because he loved her! Eurydice knows she is loved!" Eurydice is in hell. Because her boyfriend fucked up a very passable task. I don't think "knowing she is loved" is in her top five priorities in hell. This is not a romance doomed by the narrative for me, this is a man majorly fucking up and his girlfriend has to pay the price. and that's just never gonna be appealing to me.

I can understand why you guys get something else out of it but personally. To me. This is a story about a woman who is punished for the mistakes of her male lover. He is the one who messed up the task and she is the one who must suffer for it.

I also don't think the looking back is romantic at all. He had just walked that path himself, and yet he didn't trust her to be able to do it. That's not love to me. Love means respect and faith. If a man loves me, he would feel no urge to look, because he would know I could handle myself. I cannot stand a man who thinks he needs to take care of me, that's not love to me, that's infantilization.

But he doubted her, and then she suffers because of it. So no I do not like this story. I don't think it's romantic when women suffer due to men's errors.

My mother’s friend is intersex. When she was born (in the early 60’s) her parents wanted a son so they told to doctors to remove all of her female organs. When she was in her mid 30s she realized she was a woman and began to transition. Her parents disowned her. Her parents disowned her for making the exact same choice that they did, for making a choice that should have been hers to begin with.

Fandom terms have to sound silly, like blorbo or squick, because fandom needs humbling. Not a lot. But just every so often you need a good grounding reminder that all of this is literally made up nonsense for fun.

Shrewfoot! First appeared in the allegiances in Eclipse, her Mentor was listed as Ratscar. She has a little bit of characterization in Night whispers, during Flametails chapters, where she asks flametail to check her paw which is sprained. He goes to get her some poppy seed and Littlecloud intervenes and tells him how to wrap it in comfrey instead, since Shrewfoot sleeps too heavily on poppy seed. This is the first time I think I've seen something like a medication sensitivity in warriorcats, and think it would be pretty cool if investigated further. I think it's probably just that, but there is a possibility that Shrewfoot had some medical peculiarities that under certain circumstances were a limitation, and I wish (as a nerd) that there was more instances of either sensitivity or resistance covered in the training of medicine cats, and how often that may cause difficult illness or complicated recovery strategies. Perhaps it is why as such a young warrior she didn't survive the Great Battle, not as a primariy trauma but a battle and failure with illness due to drug resistance. But that is just speculation and I digress!

She is seen in the background of a few scenes in Night Whispers and doesn't appear on page again until the Last Hope. She is among the cats named as having perished in the battle with the Dark Forest, yet accidentally appears alive talking to Tigerheart in Dovewing's silence. The only speaking lines she has that are memorable happen in battles of the clans in a scene where Tigerheart is teaching shadowclan apprentices how to ambush patrols for battle. She's not a confirmed member of starclan in that we have seen her on page there but we can presume so since she fought on the side of the clans and was never seen in the dark forest.

My Dead by Daylight Cosmetic Contest Submissions! I had NO clue what killer skin I wanted to make... and they showed the Singularity and I had this idea!

so last year during a period of intense suicidal depression i made this necklace that i always wear, right, and the thing is it's genuinely brought me a lot of comfort and relief and i've developed a strong sentimental attachment to it, to the point that i can inarguably state that it's had a net positive effect on my mental wellbeing. however i did now just have to stop to almost throw up laughing because i realised that i've succumbed to the amulet.
