My entire body tingled – I’d grown accustomed to not getting affection. Nick hated holding hands and kissing – once we’d gotten married those activities had ceased unless he wanted sex. I told myself that Dean just wanted to comfort me and I shoved down any other thoughts and moved to finish dinner and prepping plates for us to share our meal. 

Sam and Dean spent lots of moments crouched together sharing quiet conversations and making plans of some sort. It bothered me a little that they weren’t including me on whatever plans they were making for my life and future, but it also just felt like par for the course.

Y/N had given him a paper application and he was so thankful for not being told to go get on some website to apply for the job.  Dean hadn’t pointed out that he knew her – he wasn’t sure if she’d ever want to see him again if she recognized him so he’d just thanked her for the application and gone back to the motel.

He promptly returned the paperwork; the next morning and they’d taken a copy of his ID with the promise to call after they’d looked it over. What shocked Dean the most was the phone call from Y/N, by lunch time.
