Do y’all think Sam will tell Vincent and lovely when his last days gonna be or is it gonna be a leave a note type of situation so his remaining family doesn’t try to talk him into a few more days one more time

yk what, i think it would be in character of sam to make it known to the solaire clan that he has no intention of living forever. as soon as he makes that decision, to someday not be there anymore, he tells vincent, william, porter, probably even alexis, that one day, he will live his last day.

in terms of telling his family (vincent and lovely and shifters) when it is, i’m guessing he tells them one by one by spending quality time with them and straight up explaining the situation and that he will not be changing his mind. i can’t imagine that any of the pack members or vampires would try to coerce him (maybe if alexis caught wind of it, she might think about it and wonder if she had any power to stop him, but deep in her heart she knows sam will never be swayed by her).

i can’t imagine him doing that before darlin’ is gone (if they decide to stay a shifter and not turn, which is what i hope for), because they mean so much to him and he knows what his passing would do to them. i’m thinking that after they are gone, everyone kind of expects it to slowly occur the more and more sam’s work with helping vincent or the pack comes to a close. once he has finished all he thinks he needs to do, he’ll go on with telling the others.

he’ll thank them all for bring such an important piece of his life and he’ll wish them only the best from then on out. the world spins with one less vampire, and sam leaves with a smile on his face.

One day, David’s knee is going to give out during a pack meeting, and Sam’ll be the first to catch him.

Sam’s gonna have to see the boys loose their mates one by one.

Sam will stay with the pack even when Darlin passes away.

“Sam, don’t ever doubt it, you’re a Shaw like the rest of us.”

Because Sam doesn’t give up on family, and if he has to stand where his family once stood - with only the memory of them standing beside him - he will stand. If he tells their stories to young kids - who will only ever know them through photos, and the sound of Sam’s voice - he will speak. If he has to watch the next Shaw Pack alpha struggle with the pressures of filling David’s shoes, Sam will tell the tale of Gabriel Shaw.

When Darlin’s tree bares its last fruit, Sam will sit and mourn.

Because even if there’s nothing there that was once before, Sam will be there. Sam will protect his family legacy.
