“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” — Henry David Thoreau

this is why this sappho fragment hits me so hard

If this little book should see the light after its 100 years of entombment, I would like its readers to know that the author was a lover of her own sex and devoted the best years of her life in striving for the political equality and social and moral elevation of women.

“The Great Geysers of California” by Laura De Force Gordon, 1879, unearthed from a 100-year-old time capsule in San Francisco, 1979.

“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all our letters could be published in the future in a more enlightened time. Then all the world could see how in love we are.”

i really believe that discussing the character with someone who shares ur interpretation is the closest u can get to modern day philosophy. we are like plato and aristotle but talking about a fictional guys trauma

biggest reason i make so many flop posts on here is because everything i do reeks of the desperation to make a popular tumblr post. this is deliberate, because it is what protects me from ACTUALLY making a popular tumblr post. so long as i crave it, tumblr fame will never find me. it is only when i turn away, and accept my fate of obscurity, that people will lay their eyes upon me. and it WILL be because i tripped and fell on my stupid face while i was turning

time for people to do the funniest thing ever

Macbeth: “Hey now, I think maybe killing the king isn’t totally my jam.”

Lady Macbeth: “Pussy.”

Macbeth: “Well now you’ve hit my weakness. You’ve corrupted my mind and manipulated me. How dare you.”

hahaha what if I reblogged an ask game and then forgot about it for a week (I'm so sorry)

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

ngl this one is kind of hard bc most of the media i consume is nonfiction, but I was a total PJO kid and I think it'd be really interesting to see Neil in that universe? like I could definitely see him being the type to willingly take on quests/get in complicated situations, not to mention the whole strained parental relationship(s) thing being part of his character already. anyways I think he'd be an Athena kid or the child of a minor god
