My lab partner’s friend came into class a while ago to borrow my partner’s MacBook. Ten minutes later, she came back without knocking to give the MacBook back. Our supervisor was not happy with the friend. The friend got mad that our supervisor got mad. Later on, my lab partner asked me, kinda jokingly, “Does [supervisor name] hate me?” I said, “No, but your friend could have knocked.” She replied, “I can’t control her, she’s her own woman!” And that very simple sentence has stuck with me ever since.
