hello everyone! this is a sideblog of @umflowers dedicated exclusively to lewis that acts as a content archive. it takes a lot of effort to run, but it’s a labor of love. here’s a handy guide for using my tagging system. requests for pics, vids, gifs, and trying to track down content are always welcome. i have an f1tv subscription, so if you need something from their archive i can do that. (: i don’t publicly share the sites and programs i use, but you’re welcome to send me a message asking for them. asks are welcome so long as they’re respectful. i will never gossip about or speculate on a driver’s personal life, and i don’t read or post anon hate. this blog is a volunteer effort. i don’t have a complaints department. keep it to yourself. leaving george hate in my notifs will get you blocked. only warning. my other blogs can be found at: @umgeorge, @ummick, @umseb, and @vintagef1

Lewis Hamilton On Dressing Up, Showing Up, and Making No Apologies

When I learned that The Met was celebrating the Black dandy, I was a bit blown away, to be honest. Black dandyism, the men who came before us—curator Monica L. Miller’s work and how she explains this history in the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”—it’s all so important to learn. What hit home hardest is how far back it goes, and that there are so many different ways to present as a man; you don’t have to be traditionally masculine. And Black men have always had to be more excellent than our white counterparts. I’ve seen that with my father and with me—we needed to be overachievers. That’s why this theme is just so important to me.
