there’s some notion that trans women are able to be mistreated in like romantic/sexual relationships even though people like to deny that as well, or at random in everyday life by strangers, but i think people engage much less with the way even in friendships non trans women treat trans women like shit and to a different standard than their other friends

but season 3? is such a fucking shit storm that reinforces everything non-white fans have been saying for such a long time. treating non-white characters as disposable and sidelining these characters for white ones.
and also. did NO ONE think it would be weird if shauna was the antler queen and then the hair she's collected is mari's? is that not WEIRD when you consider the VERY LONG history of white people using the parts of non-white people as war trophies, as decorations, as literal objects?
i stopped watching when i heard lottie died because i'm just fed up with the way the non-white people are treated in this show. treated as plotlines, as disposable, as trophies. never as people. doesn't even get into how this bleeds into fandom discourse. and yellowjackets has always been racist, but s3 really is just mask off about it. and i feel like we should sit down and actually talk about it.

The way in which Mari's death was handled especially following the mistreatment of poc characters this season has left a very sour taste in my mouth. She is strung up, dragged, scalped. Shauna is supposedly well versed in classics and history, she should know the history of indigenous people being dehumanized, scalped by colonizers. The way she wears her hair as an accessory infuriates me further.
i think the thing that gets me the most about the way people on here still just don't fucking get the concept of transmisogyny is that it's like every day i can't even fucking use the bathroom without feeling like i'm putting myself in danger. like if i open the door and i hear that there is already just one single person already in there before i was i get the hell out of dodge and hold it in and go search for another "safe" bathroom. being able to take a simple piss is taken for granted by everyone else but for me i have to play 3d chess just to be able to enter (and exit!) the bathroom in relative safety. i should be able to describe how distressing shit like that is without someone trying to shoehorn in how cis women sometimes are affected to. like what, is it not bad enough on its own that trans women struggle?
this is why the people who say "ha ha i am whatever gender has the shorter bathroom line" and then try to also say "umm they hate us all equally?!?" are full of rancid shit
i dont think you guys understand how atrocious this decision is in Mahmoud Khalil's case. The judge had ordered the government to present evidence and in turn the evidence was a two page memo that basically said "we dont need evidence." This has devastating effects for anyone coming in affiliated with organizations or political parties that America doesnt like. I dont expect anything less because as a law student the idea of courts being a "check" is laughable and they have enabled the deportation of political dissidents throughout history, but god what a stupid fucking judge
personally i think the “butch” identity matrix is more directly reactionary tbh because it demands a specific form of lesbian nostalgia politics, there are overt ideological commitments that are dressed up as simply “knowing ur history”
