VocaZine is about vocaloid in general, so once we get through applications, we'll talk with the artist to see what they want to create!

Hi, I'm still unclear about the difference between the two contributor roles: short story writer and long story writer, mainly I want to understand what is the expected workload for the two roles.
I don't want to put long story writer as my top pick and then realise the amount I need to write is more than I can handle or put short story writer as my top pick and then realise I have to write less than I wanted to.
Could you at least give a rough estimate as to what you expected us to write because a short story can be interpreted as a drabble (100 words) or anything less than 1k words or 1-3k words, same thing with long stories.
Even an estimate for page amounts would be good like half a page or 2 pages long, I just want to know what I'm getting into before I pick one of the two roles.
Hi! I'm more of an artist than a writer, so I didn't think to put that down! (Will edit the form!) Its a good question. I would say a Short story writer would be writing about half a page/ one page, or around 1,000 - 1,500 words. And a long story writer would be more.
Its pretty fluid on how it works, cause I want to express fun over a strict product! Its mostly to know what to expect from the writer! If the story is exceptionally long, we could even just put an excerpt!
I don't want to stifle, or ask for more than what a person can create!

Is this zine strictly for vocaloids or are characters like Teto allowed? Can we do more niche vocaloids like SeeU?
I planned vocazine as a love letter to Vocaloid, and that nostalgic feeling of listening to vocaloid! Apart of that nostalgia is Utauloids and other lesser known (not that SeeU is unknown by any means) vocaloids. I would LOVE to see what people remember so fondly about any part of the virtual singer fandom space! Utauloids, Vocaloids, Fanloids, you name it! Please be creative and have fun! Without them, there are so many iconic songs that just wouldn't exist without them!

for artists applying, do we need to include vocaloid examples in the form?
Hi thank you!! No, it doesn't only apply for mods! Submitting Vocaloid art is preferred, but we are going to look more at the quality of work, not about the drawing itself!!! I hope this answers your question!!
Questions for the creator application form:
Is there a minimum or maximum word count that is needed to be met for the story pieces? What’s the difference between a long story and a short story (i.e. the differences in expected word-counts)?
If you want to submit a piece of writing for the examples of work, how long is the submitted piece allowed to be? Is there a maximum word count for an extract?
Is there a specific desired format for the works to be submitted in e.g. all artworks must be jpegs, all stories must be a pdf? For writing, is it okay to send an ao3 link?
Hi! Thank you, these are all great questions! There is no defined word limit for submissions, but if you have a piece that's really long, an excerpt will do! As long as the writing (and art) can be seen, it will get seen!
