Adding more to this post since it took off,

Veteran internet users, most specifically Tumblr and Twitter, knows there is no such thing as a "good fandom".

All fandoms have their rotten apples. HOWEVER, it's not because of the AUs or Rule 34 or the fangirls that have been around for years on end.

It's people who harass the members of the fandom and the creators. It's the people who endanger kids. And it's the people who shame other for simply enjoying the media without even interacting with the fandom.

These fandoms have pruned and tossed away those rotten apples because no one wants those kinds of individuals to associate with them.

Unless it is GENUINELY causing harm to individuals, shut the fuck up and let these people live. Go get some ice cream or take a stroll down the local park. Pet a dog. Do SOMETHING other than making innocent people feel bad.
