-Just a normal, sunny day at the Squad. Piranha was eating with Drill, Milt, Rhonda, and Stevie on the balcony and Moe making breakfast. He was feeling up for some pancakes that day when he heard someone come downstairs. He saw it was Lou. Lou was looking more tired and...paler than usual. The shark greeted everyone in the room quietly and sat down at the breakfast table.
-Moe decided not to push it but was still concerned for his friend. So, he began a small talk:
"How did ya sleep, Lou?" -but no answer. As if the shark was in his own, little world. Wolf cleared his throat again and spoke a bit louder: "How did ya sleep, Lou??"-the shark snapped out of thoughts and looked back at the wolf, who was eyeing him suspiciously. Lou decided to play ot off by smiling.
"I slept well. You, Moe?"
"I slept fine, thanks...I'm making us some pancakes for breakfast, k?"-Lou's shoulders tensed up at that. Pancakes? Ugh, that's just too many calories. But, he couldn't let anyone know, so he just silently nodded.
-Soon, all the pancakes were ready, and Moe set each member a plate. While everyone ate and enjoyed, Shark was just looking at them. Moe immediately got worried: "You don't like them?"
"NO! They are great! I'm just...not hungry..."
"Lou, you have to eat."
"I'll eat when I'm hungry."-Wolf got fed up with his friend's attitude, took the seat next to him, and told Shark he won't get up unless Lou eats at least one pancake. The shark agreed, not too pleased and ate it, which made Moe very happy.
"There, happy?"
"Ih, thank you Lou! Was that so hard?"
"Yes, yes it was."-Moe at first chuckled, but as he saw Lou's serious expression the laughter died down, sensing it wasn't the best moment. After the breakfast, Shark went upstairs back to the room.
-In the afternoon, Moe abd Ellen were doing some gardening. They had a great time until Ellen spotted Lou running around the headquarter, panting heavily and all red. Moe swore under his breath and told her to wait for a second, as he started running with Lou.
"What are you doing?"
"Ru-...nning...Why you...asking..?"-Lou spoke between gasps. "What circle is this? You look red as a strawberry."
"Around...12..."-Moe's eyes widen and he immediately stopped in tracks, pulling Lou by his back fin to stop. The shark was bearly breathing, his chest goung up and down quickly. Moe immediately got concerned and they both went in, to let Lou sit down. He set his tired friend down and got him cold, fresh water. Lou gulped it in a second, splashing some on his face. The wolf sat down next to him, and gently began: "Buddy, we need to talk". And Lou just looked at him.
"What's going on with you? You barely eat, and swim or run even on the sunniest days. Are ya trying to get yourself hyperthermia!?"
"N...No Moe."
"Then why!? Why are you doing these things to yourself!? And it better not be some weight-loss bullshit."-Moe was loosing patience. Shark looked down, ashamed, and Moe's look softened. It wasn't the first time Lou dealt woth these body issues. But it was still painful to watch him go through it. And Snake's usual jerk comments weren't helping. He put his arm around his buddy.
"Lou, you are perfect the way you are. And you're a shark, no skinny shark exists. Unless if they are some small kind. But you are a Great White one! You guys need meat. And you're not overweight. I swear"-but shark still looked down in shame. After a moment of thinking, the wolf sighed and began again:
"Lou, I can't make you do anything. Like I told Snake, you choose your actions buddy. But I want you to think carefully in. About what can this led to, and about the consequences. Okay?"-Shark silently nodded, and Moe hoped he got some sense into him.
-For the rest of the week, Lou was doing the same over and over. He lost some weight indeed, but it looked terrible. He was paler than a ghost, and was shaking from so much exhaustion. He ate little to no food at all, and spent his days outside. On Saturday, there was a rain. Huge one. Everyone was inside,Thank God. With so much rain, Lou wouldn't be allowed out. Moe was in his room, when he heard a shocked gasp from the bathroom. He immediately went over to the bathroom doors and got in. Inside, he saw Lou in his underwear, standing over a scale, woth eyes wide, and glossy.
-Moe's concern immediately went up, as he approached him. The scale showed that Lou lost 5 kilos. God, that was terrible. "O-Only...5? I did this all...FOR ONLY 5 STUPID KILOS!?"-Moe slowly turned around, as he couldn't believe his ears. His buddy looked worse than ever, and he was talking about his weight. "Excuse me..?". Lou's shoulders began trembling, and he out his fin over his trembling lip. Moe immediately hugged him. "Lou...Buddy..."-a sad sob escaped the mouth, as the shark continued shaking. All of this took a great tool on him, and it pained Moe. "You're shaking. Here, sit."-he gently set Lou on a closed toilet. The shark was still crying, and Wolf removed the scale.
"I-I t-thought...I-I did g-good..."-The wolf knelt down in front of his sad friend.
"And you did! Maybe even too good. Louie, look at yourself. This isn't healthy. Especially for someone like you. You're body is shaking like you're about to collapse, and you're pale like sheet. Please, please don't do this no more. Even if it is only 5 kilos, it's still killing you. You've been out on the worst sun, only drinking water with lemon. I'm surprised you are still conscious. Why do all this? I just want to know why di you hate your body so much!?"
"M-My b-bell-ly..."-the shark sobbed out. Moe immediately looked at the belly. It still remained. "I t-tried so h-hard to get r-rid if it, b-but it w-won't go a-away...". Moe couldn't believe what he was hearing. Lou had one of the softest bellies he ever saw or felt. He loved it. And so did the other members.
-With a soft sigh, Moe kissed Lou's belly, causing the other to flinch and gasp. He looked back up at him, and wiped away the tears. "Please, please, abd please, don't ever do this to yourself. It's not only killing you, but me too. I'm begging you. You have no idea how beautiful you are and how much we all love you here."-He hugged the shark, which made Lou cry more.
