The 9-1-1 Lone Star zine is looking for creative minds to help honor and celebrate this wonderful fandom and show. Typical zines are often limited to fanfiction and fanart, but we would love to make this zine really feel like a love letter collage to the show and to our fandom with a true magazine feel. Let your imagination soar!

We want everyone to feel welcome to participate, no matter your skill level or what you're good at!

Contributor Application - Closes May 15

A contributor is someone who is working on the content of the zine. You are the person contributing to its creation. We are looking for artists, writers, and other creatives to make this zine happen! All skill levels are welcome!

Organizer Application - Closes April 6

An organizer is someone helping to assemble and oversee creation and assembly of the zine. We are looking for organizers, designers, beta-readers, editors, and help with production. Applicants can apply to up to 2 roles! You are also of course welcome to apply as contributors as well!

We would love to have you join our team in any capacity!

Absolutely Wrecks People Summary: In the beginning of the relationship, TK thinks he has twist parts of himself to keep Carlos' eyes on him, wrecking himself in the process. A fic for @911lonestarangstweek for the prompt to twist a quote into something angsty. Thanks for bringing this back for my dark heart.

* “Whatever you do, don’t give her the Carlos-cow-eyes.” 

“The Carlos-cow-eyes?”

“You know when you get all lovey and concerned. Soulful, big brown eyes. Absolutely wrecks people.”

TK means it quite literally. The depth of Carlos’ brown eyes have been his undoing since he first found himself reflected in them. They were a snare, a trap, awning and endless and eventually, he fell in. On the way down, they pull the barbs from him he’s put up in hopes he’d never feel the pain of loss again. They free him. They anchor him in a way no one ever has. 

TK loves Carlos from the first time he gets in the car with him, hands clammy while keeping his shoulders relaxed and his grin playful - all casual as his broken heart beats again. Loves him from the moment Carlos blinks up at him with his big brown eyes, the canopy of his lashes only adding to the dismantling of TK’s defenses. He won’t notice the hole they hammer into his chest also means he will flood, not for a while.

But.

He knows something has been broken in him with one blink of Carlos’ perfect eyes, because as soon as he muddles through his confusion and allows Carlos one step closer, into a relationship, he once again finds himself adrift. So he runs. Actual hole in his chest from a bullet, he will only return to Carlos when he is let go.
