The most realistic reason why Anders doesn't have his cute earring in DA2 for me is because he literally sold most of his possessions from the Warden and Circle days to buy potions, bandages, cots, blankets, and all the other things he needed to open and run his clinic.

He literally can't even fix his boots after the expedition because every ounce of money he gets he immediately gives to the members of the Underground or his patients, or he spends it on the supplies.

The only vain thing he still allows himself to have is his feathered pauldrons, and they still look shabby because he has no time or money to fix them.

I am slowly going insane over this.
