What is your linkblue?
Here at the University of Kentucky, your linkblue is your UK username and password that gives you access to many essential resources like email, the myUK portal, software, and more. Your linkblue account is unique to you and created when you are accepted as a student or entered into payroll as an employee.
Your linkblue account is for use while you are in an active status at UK. See below for information on how to set up your linkblue account and how to best prepare your account when transitioning to an inactive status at UK. Account Best Practices
Never link personal accounts to your UK account
Because access to University computing resources, including your linkblue username and university email address, is discontinued when you leave UK, you are strongly encouraged to not associate your personal non-work accounts with your linkblue username or University Email Address.
Personal accounts that should not be associated with your linkblue including, but not limited to:
- Personal Gmail accounts
- Personal Microsoft accounts
- Banking information and accounts
- Apple IDs
Never store personal files in your University account
Upon departure from the University, your personal files will need to be moved from your UK account. It is best practice to keep personal files in a personal account. See our Account Offboarding page for more information on migrating files out of a UK account.
Make sure you have an account recovery options
Add your personal email account or phone number to the UK Account Manager. This is necessary should you ever need to get documentation from UK in the future. Visit How to Set Up an External Email Address for instructions.

How do I find my linkblue username?
If you don't know your linkblue username, contact ITS Customer Services at (859) 218-HELP (4357). You can also contact the Registrar's Office at (859) 257-3161.

How can I get back into my linkblue account if I am locked out?
If you are unable to get into your linkblue account, call Customer Services at 859-218-HELP (4357).
