2. Freddy Krueger helped Hamill get Skywalker role? Yep! Mark Hamill and Robert Englund are friends, the actor best known for playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street films. Englund, himself, auditioned for the role of Luke Skywalker and, when he did not get the role, he encouraged Mark to go and audition after him.
3. Mark Hamill is a lifelong fan of Laurel and Hardy. In June 2016, he called into The Ross Owen Show on Black Sky Radio to talk for over an hour about his passion for Stan and Ollie.
4. Mark Hamill kept his Luke Skywalker boots, from the first “Star Wars” movie. When the movie was re-released to theaters in the late 1990s, his son asked if he could wear the boots to a showing. I saw 5 of top 7. 10s and favorites: star wars, the empire strikes back. 9 not favorite return of the jedi. I thought he was worst actor in star wars from the start. james earl jones the best.
Hey bob cox….thanks for the thoughts on Mark Hamill. Interesting take on his performance in the Star Wars movie…..although we normally agree….we see it different here…..I have always enjoyed his performance as Luke Skywalker. James Earl Jones’ voice certainly brings great power to the role of Darth Vadar. Good stuff as always.
