Semana Santa 2025 Edition
Wednesday, April 16th, Midnight - 3am
on
Radio Futura with DJ Pedro Fumero
Radio Futura goes back to Spain for a really special Easter celebration: Semana Santa 2025 edition.
Folktronica, flamenco, and experimental immersion that tastes like pain, tears, "potage," "torrijas," and "buñuelos." A week that smells like orange and lemon trees, incense, burning candles, and flowers. A surreal week, that happens to sound like respectful silence, a breeze of southern wind, synchronized stomping feet, brass, drums, and heartfelt “saetas". Regardless of the obvious religious significance, one doesn't have to be religious at all to enjoy gospel music, Christmas, or the world-famous beers or desserts delivered by monks or nuns over the centuries (for example). Why mostly southern Spain? I would simply note that they bring the whole experience to a unique and mystical New level in all departments.
