Currently, I am working as an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Islamic University of Madinah (IUM), Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Before joining IUM, I served four years in the School of Industrial Technology, USM, and five years as a senior lecturer at the Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (MICET), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL). I am a Post-doc Fellow from the School of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, and from the School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in the Penang campus. I have done much research on the characterization of carbon materials at Universiti Sains Malaysia (as evident from my recent published works). Basically, I am an Analytical chemistry specialist for food, feed, and carbon materials and water analysis, and my focus is on the application of analytical instruments for the characterization of materials and their application in the desalination of contaminated water.  My research interest vested in pyrolysis, material characterization, LDH synthesis, characterization, & application, and drying kinetic modeling for food, feed, and waste drying under different conditions.
