Customer Image Gallery | Waterside Nursery The pond is about 4' in diameter and about 18" in depth in the middle and with a couple of shelves. There is also a very small and shallow (4") 'puddle': birds particularly like this to drink and bath! We do have 1 or 2 resident frogs and recently saw a newt. However I think we should have vegetation coming down to the water's edge to be 'wildlife' friendly and as you can see the pond is surrounded by 18" of shingle all the way round.
