Miao / Hmong People

The Hmong people are an indigenous group in East and Southeast Asia. In China, the Hmong people are classified as a sub-group of the Miao people. The Hmong reside mainly in Southwest China (Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Guangxi) and countries in Southeast Asia such as Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. The names of the sub-groups refer to the clothing of the women: Blue Hmong, White Hmong, Flower Hmong, Red Hmong and Black Hmong
