White cement, or portland cement, is a highly refined limestone powder used as a base to create mortar or concrete. When combined with water and a binder and then allowed to dry, portland cement becomes very hard. You can mold white cement like clay while it's wet or carve it like stone after it dries.

While we didn’t manage to sculpt a great deal of surface on the little boat feature we did get a great deal accomplished today. We concentrated instead on completing all the the difficult to reach and fiddly small areas of the little steam tug. Much of the work was upside down which slows things down a little as well. By day’s end a lot had changed on the little boat. The ‘woodwork’ is quickly taking shape and it is looking great! Other questions I received this week concerned the sculpting medium we use for our projects. There are many on the market. We use Abracadabra Sculpt. It is a two part epoxy putty (much the same consistency as plasticene I used as a kid). www.abracadabrasigns.com/smooth_and_sculpt/home It is mixed in equal quantities and then sculpted.
