When we say lead leg, what we mean is this: Whenever you go to pass a ball, you’ll more than likely have to take a step or a few steps toward the ball. The last step you take will establish your “lead leg,” and it’ll be the leg that’s in front.  The next step is to get balanced on your lead leg. This means that you should have the majority of your weight balanced on that leg. Ideally you should be able to stand just on your lead leg when you pass the ball! This helps ensure your momentum is going forward toward your setter and will help get rid of shanks or passes that go straight up.
