The Polonnaruwa Vatadage is an ancient structure dating back to the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa of Sri Lanka. It is believed to have been built during the reign of Parakramabahu I to hold the Relic of the tooth of the Buddha or during the reign of Nissanka Malla of Polonnaruwa to hold the alms bowl used by the Buddha.

Girihandu Seya is an ancient Buddhist temple situated in Thiriyai, Trincomalee. It is also known as Nithupathpana Vihara and is believed to be the first Buddhist stupa in Sri Lanka. The temple is believed to have been built by two seafaring merchants named Trapusa and Bahalika whose names are recorded in a rock inscription found in the premises of the temple. Jaffna public library - SriLanka

Jaffna Public Library is one of the most notable landmarks of Jaffna which is situated along the Jaffna-Point Pedro Road. The library was built in the year 1933 and burnt in 1981 while being completely rehabilitated by 2001. Run by the Jaffna Municipal Council, it was one of the biggest libraries in Asia with more than 97,000 books and manuscripts in total.
