17K views · 2.3K reactions | My most favorite part of this bathroom makeover 🤩 Let me spill the beans on how I created this 👇🏼 Materials >>> 12 1x6x12 pine tongue and groove boards 8 1x6 common boards 4 1x4 common boards 4 2x4 support boards The boards running the long way are 1x6x12 pine tongue and groove boards. They’re installed upside down because I wanted the texture and rough looking side to be what was stained. The smooth side had so many staples and was missing chunks in the grooves. For the beams I used pine common boards (1x6 for the beam sides, and 1x4 or the bottom beam board). I first installed the long boards using a cross nailing technique with my brad nailer to basically anchor them into place. Then, used a support/guide board where each of my beams are to fasten into the ceiling rafters. Once the support boards were in place I just framed around it with my beam boards. Stain >>> @artisanenhancements Nature’s Wood Stain Mixture: 1 16oz can of Roasted Pecan 2 tablespoons of Dark Walnut Steps: (1) Mist your area with water to act as a pre-stain conditioner. (2) Mix your stains. (3) Apply with a paintbrush or stain cloth. (4) Allow each stain layer to fully dry for 24 hours before your next stain coat. (5) Seal with their Clear Topcoat. It goes on like a water-based sealer but is penetrating and durable like an oil-based topcoat. [When first applied it reminded me of Elmer’s glue haha! But as it dries, the creamy color disappears into a crystal-clear finish.] I’ve always loved full wood ceilings because it brings SO MUCH character and makes the space feel larger.
