I had to use TS as well, as I cannot figure out how to export typedefs otherwise. I hope it's ok.

Thank you for this @ciscoheat, much appreciated, as I mentioned in the issue you created there will likely be a lot of conflicts here with my local development version of the library, and I'll see if I can merge all of your proposed changes with mine, as I will not merge this PR with the current master branch, but I'll try my best to implement as much of this as possible and let you know!
