Since there is still no handling for pylibmc connection/server exceptions in Django's PyLibMCCache backend, would be nice to update django-pylibmc to be able to continue using it with newer Django versions.

@jwhitlock Hi John,
Is there a chance for this pull request to be merged to upstream? We're still using django-pylibmc lib in our projects instead of Django's PyLibMCCache backend mainly because of exceptions handling. Related Django feature request was triaged (https://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/28342) and now it's not clear if it'll be implemented at all.

Would be awesome if this project receives an update
