Had a pleasant hobby night with friends, lots of chatting and I made some progress on the Radio Bunker. Needs a bit more weathering, foliage, debris and the tower itself needs to be done. The newly magetised top is working fine, chuffed with that. The removable insert needs some extra sanding on the bottom as that is flaking a bit, these new MDF seem to do that a lot. Otherwise, with some luck, maybe done by the weekend? Who knows.
Getting to the final stages of the transmitter or radio bunker. Insert with cut off cables is ready for priming, glued a big magnet in the top of the mast and drilled a nail into the side of a round MDF base and glued stars on both ends. Nothing earth shattering but the end is in sight!
I picked up the Blood and Zeal box (84 euros) and found a seller on the used group that wanted 28 euro per set of the Inquisitorial Agents so grabbed 2 of those as that gives you 90% of the build options.
At first I felt the box would not be that interesting, I could just sell the Chaos dudes and the statue and come out ahead. But after (just) opening the box that changed.
The statue will be stripped into parts. The wings into the bitx box, the lower parts will come in handy for ....something Imperial, the skulls built as a pile and usefull for a pile of dead Fantasy ogres? The candles etc will come in handy as well and the statue will get a new base.
The Chaos dudes actually make nice Techno Barbarians. I might tone down the weapons a bit cause carrying the equivalent of a 3 metre chainsaw in one hand etc is a bit much even for me.
Will this go somewhere? I hope so. My health took a big knock in the past 2 weeks, I got a painkiller upgrade for 4 days that worked really well but isn't sustainable in the long run (liverdamage being one which I'd rather not add to my long list of "Stuff that is wrong with Gunbird") and I'm not feeling painting....well, I want to, but my left eye is still being a downright b*tch. Several visits to the hospital planned in the next weeks-months for more checks, but I'm not holding my breath. Thus far every test this year had come back negative.
Anyway, enough negativity. I'm getting more and more inspired by Peachy to get stuff done, so let's go :)
While cleaning out my storage I found my old Pripyat sign that I made out of plastic card back in early 2013. As those photos died in the Photobucketlypse I thought I'd reshoot them. Still a nice piece, made when I had no physical health issues. Ah, to be young and stupid again.
I picked this one up last week in a 50% off sale, gave it a good scrub, and after a tiny amount of clean up gave it a coat of black GW primer. A few hours ago I started with blue sponged on, then white, then brown and then weathering. Hit it with a blow-dryer, added the leaves and moss and Igor is your Uncle. It feels a bit big, more like 1/35 but for scatter and cover this is fine.
No decals, markings or anything so it works for Stalker, Modern and Post Apoc equally. An hour we'll spent I'd say.

Robert Poulton "Small Shanty Town"
This is a small shanty town in the country of Democratic Republic of Kananga led by General Omar Gutsakillinme. as most people will know that just becuase the word Democratic is in the title means nothing at all as the General is an out and out Dictator. He rules the country with a fist of iron only redeeming feature as far as the west are concerned is that he he is stuanchly Anti-Communist and so his army is supplied mostly by western countries obviously the brown envelopes filled with cash help as well. The Army are well supplied and well trained with some of the best units being Mercenaries.Thats all I got at the moment except the armies name: Kanangan Resistance Alliance Phalanx

Dex McHenry "Mimi's Parlour"
The parlour stemmed from a couple of billboards I'd designed a couple of years back. It's a bar, casino and general hangout. Model is a 3D print and lights can be placed inside.
All my factions are based in a country I call Zamibia. Madam Mimi's Parlour is the hangout of one of the factions, the Zamibian Independence Party.
