25 October 2011 - Epigenomics AG (ETR:ECX), a Germany-based company engaged in molecular diagnostics of cancer, announced on Tuesday that it is to launch its Epi proColon 2.0 CE in Europe during the United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) event to be held in Stockholm, Sweden.

However, as Professor Christian Ell of the clinical centre Wiesbaden, teaching hospital of the University of Mainz in Germany explained at a press conference at the 18th United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) in Barcelona, a simplified single-balloon enteroscope was recently introduced, prompting the initiation of the first randomised study comparing the two techniques.

The company added that results will be presented in a late breaking oral session at the 19th United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) in Stockholm on 24 October.

The quest to achieve a deeper understanding of the causes of IBD and CrohnEoACAOs disease is a major focus of this year's United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) in Barcelona from 23 to 27 October 2010.
